Buffalo and other references

I love how they incorporated references from the crew and actors' real
lives...Like Frank Myers, who Andy was supposed to evict. There was a Frank
Myers, an assistant director on TAGS for that link. And in the last B/W episode
with Jerry Van Dyke, I have always loved the location Andy sends him to for the
job of school crossing guard. "Jerry, you go down to the corner of Rockford and
Haymore" And we all KNOW where that is. . Of course there's the Snappy
Lunch, Floyd's Barber Shop, actual businesses in Mt. Airy.

All these references...don't that just clutch ya?!?

How is Everyone

2020-05-02 Thread Ken Anderson
I hope this post finds all of you safe and well during these very unusual
and challenging times` It is almost beyond belief as to how much our lives
have been change in the past several months. We have no plans to do any
car shows or parades anytime soon. All of our May events have been
cancelled as well as many through June. Even when things begin to reopen
we will probably avoid any crowds. I have managed to live 73 years with no
serious health challenges, so I don't think now is the time to tempt fate.

How fortunate all of our Mayberry friends were living in Mayberry. There
illnesses were usually brief and not very serious. Clara had her bursitis,
Howard death with a deviate septum, and of course the Mendelbright sisters
had to deal their feet falling asleep. Otis was fairly healthy too, except
for his falling down, and Andy was strong as a horse except for a bought
with a flu bug. Barney of course had to deal with his low sugar count and
an occasional vein that would stick out, but for the most part,
Mayberryites were very healthy.

I shudder to think how they would have dealt with the pandemic, being they
are such a social and close knit community. It would have been very
challenging for them to practice social distancing and I would hate to
think of their covering up those wonderful smiles with face masks.

In any event, stay safe and healthy everyone.

He petted a stray dog just before he did that so his hands are clean. LOL

Watching The Waltons and little Elizabeth was just handed a chunk of ice broken
off a big block on the local ice wagon. Of course the dirty gloved hand gives
her the chunk which she immediatley starts to lick away at. LOL Then I
remembered, during the Great Depression, saving water was a big deal. 

Re: Eleanora Poltise

2020-05-02 Thread gmsproductions
I was thinking about Elizabeth's question as to why Eleanora Poltise was not
in the choir.

Even with the help of a thinking bucket, I couldn't come up with the answer.

So, I ran it by the Boys at the Lab. They're not very busy right now since
social distancing and sheltering-in-place have hampered their analysis of
rocks.

They actually had three ideas:

A. Ms. Poltise went to a different church - maybe one over in Mt. Pilot

2.She stayed home on Sunday so she wouldn't risk missing Leonard Blush
on radio with the Ethel Page organ recital at the Pot O Honey Restaurant

C.On Sunday her alter ego of Big Maude took over and she didn't want to
be exposed to a guilt-trip caused by hearing a sermon on the subject of sin
