According to the numbers being reported throughout Mayberry with record numbers
voting. It looks as though Pike has taken a large lead over Stoner, that is S T
O N E R, Stoner. And in one of the tightest compaigns ever in Mayberry it looks
like the numbers are still too close to call at this time on the New Sewer
Issue. If you haven't voted on these important issues please makes sure to get
down to Mayberry High and cast your vote.

2008-10-26 Thread C J

It seems in these rough economic times that I throw my support along with the
support of our chapter with Aunt Bee on the sewer issue, as Aunt Bee says if
the people want it so be it, that shall be her beacon to stand on. Give the
People what they want so come election day when you close that curtin, remember
a yes on the sewer issue is a vote for progress.

Kennyboy,
very nice job on that list, such a shame Aunt Bee and Mr Wheeler's romance

re: drugstore open on Sunday?

2008-07-06 Thread C J

Did't this come up before and someone mentioned blue sundays. Now I am not all
that old the blue sunday thing ended here when I was about 8 or 9. Were drug
stores on sundays durning that time, I do remember my dad always taking mom to
the store on saturday morning and filling the car up on saturdays so they would
have enough for sunday because everything was closed and quiet on sunday...

The drugstore is probably NOT open on Sundays.? Remember, we learned back in
Ellie Comes to Town that Andy knows where the key for Walker's Drugstore?is
hidden, and that he is allowed to serve himself and operate the cash register
himself, even when Fred (the owner) is present. But why?didn't they make
homemade ice cream?Paul Mulik

Warren Ferguson

2008-06-30 Thread C J

Here is just a suggestion for some of you who don't care for Warren.
Personally I think the guy was just introduced wrong to begin with. If you get
rid of The Bazaar and have his introduction be either Lost and Found or the
Taylors off to Hollywood followed by The Barney episodes ending with Barney
handing the town over to Warren as he did just earlier and you may see him in a
different light. true he was no Don Knott's Barney but he held his own just the
same. try it sometime, avoid the bazaar as his introduction and he comes off a
lot better. Just a thought from

Problems and Bounces

2008-05-07 Thread C J

With some limited knowledge of this stuff I am guessing BOUNCE is a failure
to deliver notice something similar to this.

This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification. Delivery to
the following recipients failed.
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

If my mail system fails to deliver more then 3 times it kicks me a notice
asking if I want that address to remain on my mailing list, I am guessing that
is a bounce.

As another Mike said yesterday in a message it does seem odd that Allan FLOYD
Newsome hasn't responded personally to anyone. My guess is with spring here and
all the school dances and such he is just busy as a beaver cutting hair and of
course hearing them wonderful phrases such as my mom says not to cut it wrong
this time and my mom says she will pay you later'. poor Floyd always happens
this time of year lets just hope he doesn't get Barber claw and he has time for
his pansies.

Hope all is well with you Allan and we all hope to see something from you soon.

BTW:
This could also be some kind of failure because of the archive system recently
put into use, just be patient folks, all the bugs will be taken care of soon
enough, Allan isn't going to let something as good as this part of Mayberry
just fade away.

Thanks Allan and all involved with this chapter for all the hard work you do, I
know personally it isn't as easy as some may think.

re:No TV repair shop door

2008-04-10 Thread C J

In Guitar Player, Orvale Monroe is seen coming out the door marked Monroe's
Mortuary. Orvale was also the TV repair at the time next to Floyds when the
beauty Parlor wasn't there. So the door would have been on the Foley side. Now
the Beauty Parlors door was seen inside of Floyds in several episodes so maybe
Orvale used that door as well.

Hope that helps.

Jewelery Store Question

2008-04-03 Thread C J

 Hi everybody,

I am hoping a Train Noticer will be able to help a few of us out with a
trivia question. In the beginning of The Rumor when Andy walks into the
jewelery Store, as he stands in the open doorway the sign outside looks as if
it says King's Jewelery. I posed this question on our message board and a few
came back insisting it was called Fred Sterling's Jewelery. Does anyone happen
to know for sure what the name of that jewelery store was. Thanks for any help

for all of us to try and remember these tried and true rules. Allan
---

Hey Everybody,

Boy, things have really been growing here in out little corner of
Mayberry!! Because of that I think it's time to remind everyone what
WBMUTBB is all about:

We all know what Mayberry is about but do we realize why it is that we
all visit there everyday? I know that the characters are great but more
than that, they're friends. We know these people and it's just a joy
to visit them every chance we get to watch them as they work their way
through getting locked in a cell because the door clangs shut or any
of the other wonderful situations they face. Things always work out in
a wonderful way leaving a smile on our faces.

Mayberry is an escape from the day-to-day trials we all face. A short
trip to a place where every body cares about one another and where we
can forget, for a while, the fact that real life isn't as much like
that as we'd like.

I started WBMUTBB back in 1990, along with several other good folks, and
since then I've tried to make it as much like a corner of Mayberry as
possible. I wanted this place to be somewhere folks could go and forget
about the outside world and relax by reading about Andy, Barney, Opie,
Aunt Bee, and the rest of our Mayberry family.

To try and make that happen I've required everyone who wanted to join to
tell us a little about themselves so we could get to know them just a
little bit. After all, in Mayberry everyone knew everybody else and
how can we have a community without having at least some idea about our
neighbors?

I've also had a couple of rules here and I try to enforce them.

Of course Rule #1 is...you guessed it...Obey all rules.

Rule #2 is this: Talk about the things you like about Mayberry..not
things you don't like.

I know some folks forget this second rule sometimes and they don't
really understand WHY I think Rule #2 is important so let me just give
you an example. Let's say I were to say, Boy, I really hate Barney. I
mean, look how stupid he is and poor Andy has to put up with him.If
I said that (and meant it) what are the first things that happen to you?

First you'd feel like, Man, that guys a jerk! Then you'd get
aggravated at this guy talking about your Favorite character (and
friend), Barney Fife. Even if Barney's not your very favorite
character, you'd likely be upset about this guy talking about your neighbor.

I've never heard anyone say anything like that about Barn but I have
about other characters and folks forget that just because they don't
like a particular character doesn't mean that character isn't someone
elses favorite. You see, if I talk about your favorite character saying
negative things about 'em it takes your fun away.

I think that's enough about Rule #2 and I hope you all understand the
rule. It's not to take away from your fun but to encourage you all to
tell us about what's fun to you and share your good feelings with others.

We have something special here. It's something you don't find often on
the internet. No flames, no fighting, no foul language. We have
a place that children and adults can come and enjoy themselves.

Mayberry is a wonderful place and I'm just glad to be a part of this
little corner of it.

Your Friend and neighbor,

Allan Newsome

Real Question about the Mayor of Mayberry

2008-02-25 Thread C J

Now the past few weeks, weenieman and I have been having some fun with
the Mayor Stoner and Mayor Pike campaigns and it got me thinking.

Do you think if Dick Elliott hadn't pasted durning the second season he
would have been like Andy with a full run of the series in the elections?

Don't get me wrong I think Mayor Stoner brought some great scenes to the
show although I liked him better as Ozzie's Neighbor. Pike was just different
and had that southern thing to him. What do ya think.

From the office of Mayor Pike

I just wanted you all folks to know, those rock through the windows are
coming from that Big City Mayor, not from The Fat Little Mayor Campaign.
Sheriff Taylor and his Deputy, along with the help of the Darlings have
confirmed Ernest T bass has been in a hole this entire time with a few muskrats
(learnin about love) and he has not left the hills since being appointed
Chairman of the Pike Campaign. Just a sample of what to expect from Roy Stoner,
that's S T O N E R. I do understand Deputy Fife is watching Stoner and planning
on making an arrest sometime soon.

Remember folks tell that other guy with BIG City ideas to go to Mt Pilot with

I can just see Ernest T taking Vote for Pike pamplets and wrapping

streetsof Mayberry. Dapper DanThe more your talkn' the more I'm balkn'

Yes Ernest T is the Chairman for Pikes Campaign. He has been told the chairmans
job is to fight the other guy if needed or if they happen to be from England.
This means Ernest T. is up in the woods with a sack done up like Mayor Stoner,
that S T O N E R, Roy Stoner practising his fighting skills. Mayor Pike does
feel that Ernest T deserves a shot at a decent position and that is why he has
chosen him as Chairman. After all Ernest T. Bass is a man of higher learnin.
