Although I don't remember seeing a cat, the episodes that mention cats that I can think of right off hand are: Opie the Birdman...where you hear a cat; In the episode where Andy goes to the mountains to camp, he gets a phone call while on vacation at home to come remove a lady's cat from the roof (or a tree)? and he says...well i can't do that..you see Barney has the ladder; and the episode where the fella comes to town that Andy had to shoot during a robbery (he is coming to give andy a gun as a thankyou..) one of my favorite lines involves a cat That won't be necessary barn, me and fluffy's been friends for years.. Other actors in Mayberry Roles
I have to say I agree with Janet (aka Thelma Lou). Its very hard, even after spending hours under my bucket thinkin on it, to imagine or accept anyone but the original cast in their roles. I doubt I would go to see the movie either if it ever was done. As fine an actor as Jim Carrey is, I just can't see it. A few years ago, there was some buzzing about him doing a remake of The Incredible Mr. Limpet (he may have ? I never saw it, nor ever will if it DOES exist). Anyway...just my opinion and thoughts. Wonder if Frank Burns and Ernest T. Bass were related? An episode that aired the other day, Frank, along with a litany of other comments, says I don't chew my cabbage twice. I didn't catch the credits in time (and just too darned hot and lazy to look it up in one of my reference books or the 'net) but I suspect that it was written by Fritzell and Greenbaum. Also, on another note, an episode of Andy I was watching the other day, I swear I saw a Mortuary where Foley's grocery is in most episodes? Aunt Bee's Room
Is it just me, but has anyone ever noticed that the room the town fixed up for Helen and Andy for a wedding present and then given to Aunt Bee, bears no resemblance to her room in the color episode Lost and Found? I dit see a canopy bed when she and Opie were painting the chester drawers and my pappaw used to call them. I'm about a week or more behind on my digests due to having my daughter and her family at my house for a week, but I have put it to good use. My 2 1/2 year old granddaughter now recognizes Barney! She tries to whistle the theme song, but I guess it will take a while to get the hang of it. But when she hears it she yells BARNEY TIME. Newspaper picture in the backroom
Wishing all of you a Happy New Year from Florida. Was watching the Fun Girls episode last night, where Andy and Barney are in the back room taking inventory. There are framed newsclippings on two walls, one is from the Cave Rescue I think? and the other I couldn't make out the story, but it looks like the same picture in both clippings. Am I correct? Has anyone else noticed this?
