I almost forgot. It may not have been real but we can't forget the "sea
monster" in Myer's Lake on Return To Mayberry.

Birds, owl, buzzard, elephant (a foot at least), snake, grasshopper, frog,
chickens, chicken hawk, whale, baboon, ants, fox, ducks, pig. There are many

This subject may have been discussed before but in a discussion with one of
my cats (call me crazy) he wanted to know what animals were seen or
mentioned over the years in Mayberry. I recall dogs, cats, horses, cows,
fish and a possum. Are there any others? I explained to my cat the episode
of a mother cat on the roof and he would not want to see his mother on the
roof. Elizabeth in Ga

One of my favorite animals in Mayberry was Dolly, the horse, who didn't want to
quit her job of pulling the milk wagon.

2016-10-09 Thread gloria bruce
I just thought of a few more animals in Mayberry.  How about the farmer who
had cows and a bull stolen by Luck Jensen and the episode where they had a lot
of dogs.  There was a neighbor of the Taylors that had a cat and they feared
that it would get the birds that Opie was raising.  Goober had a dog that he
thought could talk.  Andy would shoot crows and rats in the junkyard every now
and then.  Otis came riding in on a cow in one episode.  The milkman had a
horse that pulled his wagon.  Possums were mentioned every now and then as a
tasty dish for dinner.  The man who had his home foreclosed on had  chickens.
