The Oval Window

2011-06-08 Thread Debbie Whisenant
Has anybody else noticed the oval window that appears in so many different
episodes? Either Mayberry had a proliferation of these windows or they moved
the wall with the window and used it all over town. I can think of two
instances right off the bat:

The Williams' home in Barney Fife, Realtor
Helen Crump's school room in The Education of Ernest T. Bass

Can you think of others?

RE: The Oval Window and Curtains

2011-06-08 Thread Hughes, Clyde L. (HSC)
Debbie,
Yes, I've noticed that window! It sure does seem to meander about town quite a
bit.
Did it appear in Barney and the Choir?
Another thing that seemed to appear quite a bit was interior curtains that
separated rooms. That was more of the style back then, but it seems that
Thelma Lou's curtains appeared in several other stories as well.

Over and Under,

It does show up a lot -hotel ,school, the house Andy thought about buying, and
ken berry's office. I don't know if it was a popular thing or just part of the
sets they used over and over.

Yes and I ever saw it pop up on other TV shows too, most notably in a
flashback episode of The Dick Van Dyke Show.
