For the last time... changing a paragraph would not put the website release
date forward. If the site is on Silverstripe it would take less than 10
minutes.

it will indeed, as far as I can tell, remain for the moment, as only the 
main site, (www.)libreoffice.org is affected.



on the VM? I would like to update the Etherpad home page to make it alittle
more usable. Can I get more info about, maybe Florian? The reason is that we
do not need a link which gives only a home page with a text box.


I would wait until the page is released, then people can edit it. Right 
now, the pad site points to our official pad, which I think is just fine?

make sense, a page which links to Etherpad which does not have any
indication to what the user can do next(as far as I know not everyone can
create pads)  and other severe problems, then good luck on the new
Libreoffice website.

Florian, the reason I asked about the QA is because the QA page in the new
site is almost identical to the current qa.libreoffic.eorg. About Etherpad,
I agree that it redirects to Etherpad but not to a text box which does not
allow the user to do nothing. I think it could be edited to include a list
of open pads.

Okay so that is really simple. I can either create a simple page with 
links to the main pads (but it will have to be updated) or we can add 
the link of existing pads right on the pads landing page.

severe problems? Jean, where have you been since... 4 months now? I have 
requested feedback at several stages of the website development, several 
times. Complaining right when we are rolling out the website, 
integrating it with the production infra is just not the right time. And 
given the excellent feedback we received, we will have good luck with 
the website indeed.

About Etherpad, I was suggesting the second one since the beginning of the
conversation. About the severe problems and feedback: first of all I admit
to have gone a little away from TDF work because I was busy with other
things and the good luck you will have is only with maybe people who don't
know how to read since I never went to a Microsoft or Google website and saw
a paragraph which a 5 year-old would manage to do better.

the text box *is* the Etherpad instance. It is very much a default 
Etherpad instance. The list of pads shown in the beginning was a plugin 
that sadly stopped working a while ago, which is why I created a manual 
list of pads in the wiki, linked in the footer.


I'm all for keeping the redirection to pad.tdf as it is right now.

you mean the Etherpad one? No, not really. There's a themde that's 
applied, which is where I e.g. added the footer, but really editing it

I am sorry Jean but the specs were up to comments and in public on this
mailing list since early December. It would have been the right moment
to do so.

We need to release it first then subsequent versions can be designed.

it is in an iframe, but I don't see anything wrong with it?
