Re: [weewx-user] Follow-Up on AirLink/PurpleAir comparison

2020-10-02 Thread vince

I tend to see my PA 'a' and 'b' sensors very close to each other, but I
average them when I feed the data to weewx.

My PA's JSON contains:

  "hardwarediscovered": "2.0+BME280+PMSX003-B+PMSX003-A",
  "hardwareversion": "2.0",

Run "curl http://purpleair-/json |  jq . | sort" for a more human
readable version of all the output

Re: [weewx-user] Granularity and Archives

2020-10-02 Thread Glenn McKechnie
wxobs will give you some of what you are after. (It doesn't return
every weewx database field.)

There are no charts, just a table of values for any specific date in
your database.

The default is to display 30 minute intervals, but that can be changed
in skin.conf if you want to fine tune it (see display_interval)

https://github.com/glennmckechnie/weewx-wxobs

Given you have sqlite as your database, it works best as a local
installation. (ie: it requires direct access to your database)

http://203.213.243.61/weewx/wxobs/
That link has a working demo, but the database only goes back a month.
Selecting the 12th Sept 2020 will show a rain day (adjusted for the
Australian start time of 9 a.m.)

Re: [weewx-user] Follow-Up on AirLink/PurpleAir comparison

2020-10-02 Thread John Kline
I believe the PurpleAir is a Plantower PMS5003 (PurpleAir states that they use
PMS5003 and PMS1003 sensors).

The Davis looks like it could be a Plantower PMS7003. I’m guessing from
shining a flashlight to look at the Davis and comparing to images of the
PMS7003).

If I guessed right as to the Davis sensor, there is a comparison here:
https://aqicn.org/sensor/pms5003-7003/

I don’t know reliable the above source is. I note that two sensors are way off
(both are PMS5003 if I got the colors right).

[weewx-user] Can't tell if I'm posting soilTemp1, soilMoist1 and leafWet1 to WU

2020-10-02 Thread Duane Kerzic
I'm new to this.

I have those extra sensors on a Davis Vantage Pro2 station w/ Weather
Envoy. I found how to add them to the seasons skin for my personal
webpage.
https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KPASTROU8?cm_ven=localwx_pwsdash

But I don't see them on my WU station page. I moved from VWS at the
beginning of this year and just spending some time getting to learn more
about weewx.

Is there a way for me to see what's in the data stream?

Thanks so much.

I'm using a custom search expression that gives me the high low and rain
for "this day" for each year that I have data for.

When I get off work I'll look up the details.

You should be able to craft a SQL query to get what you want with either db
and it will be the same query either way. It just might not be easy.

[weewx-user] Granularity and Archives

2020-10-02 Thread cycle.l...@gmail.com
Hi,
Very bad rain tonight in the UK, and I mentioned to my wife that it must
have been the worst rain for years. She remarked that we had had heavier
rain two years ago.

Then it occurred to me that I had no way of verifying that. If I select
'2018', for example, it will tell me what day we had very heavy rain, but
it won't let see what the weather was (all of the parameters) on my
birthday, or any other day.

Is there a way to get 'granular' data of this kind? Is it already in
'sqllite' database, or would I have to switch to MySQL to get it?
 Whichever method I use, will that data only be available via CLI, or is
there a way to get it on the GUI - without learning HTML and Python to
create it myself?

Thanks.

Re: [weewx-user] Xstats - Rain - sum_ge

2020-10-02 Thread Chris Davies-Barnard
Apologies Tom,

So I'm using the standard example xstats extension which has the following
code:

*# Now use a similar process to get statistics for the last 30 days.days_dt
= datetime.date.fromtimestamp(timespan.stop) -
datetime.timedelta(days=30)days_ts =
time.mktime(days_dt.timetuple())thirty_day_stats =
TimespanBinder(TimeSpan(days_ts, timespan.stop), db_lookup,
context='thirty_day', formatter=self.generator.formatter,
converter=self.generator.converter)*

which I assumed (probably wrongly) had all the same aggregation types as
everything else as there wasn't any detail in the file.

Although searching around I have found your new
xstats https://github.com/tkeffer/weewx-xstats/blob/master/bin/user/xstats.py
which might help me do everything else I want to do.

Thanks as always. Think I have now been using Weewx on and off since
version 2 and its always so impressive in its flexibility and stability.

Chris.

Re: [weewx-user] Re: gw1000 driver sensor signal strength ?

2020-10-02 Thread gjr80
Unlikely the default driver mapping will be to rxCheckPercent given there
could potentially be numerous individual sensor signal state fields in a
densely populated system. Of course if the user wants to re-map individual
sensor signal level field(s) to some other field(s) that is easily done
through the driver config stanza.

Re: [weewx-user] Re: gw1000 driver sensor signal strength ?

2020-10-02 Thread gjr80

Sorry, read signal strength but brain said battery state. The sensor signal
strength is currently not available in loop packets. It is available by
running the driver directly with the —sensors command line option (you can
run the GW1000 driver directly while WeeWX continues to run). Long story
why signal strength is not in loop packets, but I will look at adding it in
the next release.

It’s worth noting that the GW1000 signal strength is not a true RF signal
strength but rather it is a measure of how many of the most recent,
expected, sensor data packets were received by the GW1000.

I'd also like to have the bounding line of the area graph a different
colour to the fill colour

Is this possible ?

For the marker I tried...

 marker
    zIndex = 1
    enabled = true
    color = Purple

but that has no effect.

Re: [weewx-user] How to display pm2.5 & lightning graphs?

2020-10-02 Thread Tim Tuck

Hi John,

I have...

    title = Lightning
  [[[lightning_strike_count]]]
 name = Number of strikes
 color = "#ffc83f"
  [[[lightning_distance]]]
  name = Distance to Strike
  color = "#f7f2b4"
  y_label = "km"

Dunno if that works yet. All the storms that have passed by since I put
that in have been quiet!

cheers

Tim

Hi Tim,

Would you mind sharing your lightning graph entry?  I have it working
on mine, however I could only get a daily strike count working.

Hi Andy,

I have PM2.5 from my WH41 graphing in my Belchertown skin, you can
see that on the bottom left of this page...

http://metoffice.skybase.net/weewx/belchertown

I put

    [[chart7]]
    title = PM 2.5
  [[[pm2_5]]]
 name = PM 2.5
 zIndex = 1
 color = "#ffc83f"
  y_label = "ug/m3"

in/etc/weewx/skins/Belchertown/graphs.conf

I have a lightning graph too but since there hasn't been any
lightning there has been nothing to test the graphing. I've been
tempted to build a spark gap and create my own "lightning" to work
things out.

I've yet to create the graphs for batteries etc. I'll work on that
soon since I 4 soil moisture sensors too.

[weewx-user] Xstats - Rain - sum_ge

2020-10-02 Thread Chris Davies-Barnard
Morning,

I would like to be able to output the number of days over 1mm rain for the
xstat options such as 7 days, 30 days etc. but

$thirty_day.rain.sum_ge((1.0,'mm'))

does not appear to work. Is this correct?

Regards

Chris
