edit: it's only the big icon in the left upper corner. The icons in the
forecast section shows up correctly.
In the debug with developer console shows no error (like image not found

It's like the div is empty.

Same probleme with the logo, but there I was able to solve it with the full

[weewx-user] Problem loading icons (wxicon)

2021-06-04 Thread Markus
Hi,
the current conditions icons do not shown up.
On the debug console i see :
Forecast: Belchertown icon is ./images/mostly-clear-day.png

The local html root (on raspberry) is /var/www/html/weex/belchertown, and i
upload it to a webserver, there is the url www.example.com/weather -- so
the path for the images is example.com/images

On booth they dont show up.

How can i fix this ?

[weewx-user] Re: Oregon Scientific WMR300 issues reading outside temperature and humidity into weewx

2018-10-01 Thread Markus Benedikt Biewer
Hi!
I still experience *intermittent dropouts* of some sensors (mainly outside
temp but also others) *after about two weeks of running weewx.*

If I restart weewx daemon with

sudo /etc/init.d/weewx restart

everything is fine again right away. I already thought of having weewx
restarted every week through a crontab entry but I know this is healing the
issue without knowing the reason.

I would prefer to know where the problem comes from and how to solve it.

Any help is very much appreciated.

Markus

[weewx-user] Oregon Scientific WMR300 issues reading outside temperature and humidity into weewx

2018-04-09 Thread Markus Benedikt Biewer
Hi there weewx users!

With great help with the WMR300 driver through this supportive user group
here, I run weewx since beginning of March 2018 on a ubuntu 16.04 on a
raspberry alike hardware. After a couple of weeks (only) the outside
temperature and humidity are not correctly shown anymore.

It started with a few intermittent dropouts during the day and became worse
and worse and now almost no outside temp and humidity are shown anymore.

The LCD of the weather station shows the data without any problems.

This is my servers address:
http://woustviller.com/weather/

I have also configured wunderground and their website shows the same
problem, check it out:

https://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=IWOUSTVI3

I really would appreciate any help what the problem could be. I am not
veery experienced in Linux but I have a ssh access to my server and I am
happy to post any information here that might help to locate the problem.

Cheers,
Markus

[weewx-user] Re: Winddir

2018-02-17 Thread Markus Roth
Also bei mir ist es gerade zufällig auch Windstill.
Und da zeigt weewx auch an
Wind 0,0 m/s from N/A (N/A)

Also auch keine Richtung.

Translated Answer in German from mwall:

wenn die Windgeschwindigkeit Null ist, wird die Windrichtung nicht
definiert. ist es dass das Verhalten, das Sie berichten wollten?

um genau zu sehen, welche Daten weewx von der Hardware bekommt, weewx
direkt starten( nicht als Daemon).

http://www.weewx.com/docs/usersguide.htm#Running_directly

richtig. Also das ausleisen.

It depends on where you live.
The server should not be too far away.
If I live in Europe, for example, the server should not necessarily be on
another continent.

[weewx-user] Weewx Localization multilingual + Weewx Drupal

2018-02-13 Thread Markus Roth
Hello

At http://www.weewx.com/docs/customizing.htm#localization

Below is how to translate Weewx into another language.
But what if you want to provide Weewx in multiple languages?

As far as I understand it, that is not possible at the moment.

It would be good if you could integrate this in your Weewx versions.
It could work similar to Drupal.
zb https://rothlive.de/de/blog
https://rothlive.de/en/blog
Over the URL.

I am also looking for a better way to integrate Weewx into Drupal.
At the moment still by html code: https://rothlive.de/Wetter/"; width="160%">

But it is a problem on mobile Phones. Of the screen size.
https://rothlive.de/de/Wetterstation

Can anyone Help me to make it better ?

[weewx-user] Re: Redundant and self synchronizing database between two systems - which approach (MQTT ?) ?

2017-12-29 Thread Markus
Hello Tom,

many thanks for your help.

I read the thread and did some further research.
The data collecting script on the RasPi at garden writes all data to a CSV
file. I will read this CSV file over LAN into the weeWx instance at the
server.

If the server with weeWx is down, but data collecting on RasPi at garden
goes on:
Do you know about a CSV fileparser for weeWx which can automatically read
in a archive CSV file, if some data is missing?
How to get in weeWx the timestamp from the last successful saved data?

Regards
Markus

[weewx-user] Redundant and self synchronizing database between two systems - which approach (MQTT ?) ?

2017-12-26 Thread Markus
Hello,

i am building up a Raspberry Pi based home made weather station at my
garden house.
The data collecting script will be self written (more to this script here:
https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=22428.0 )
For a stable system the RasPi will run with a industrial grade microSD
(Transcend High Endurance) and a UPS.

The weather data will be collected locally on the RasPi but should also be
stored on my Linux server - both are connected via LAN.
The Linux server is also responsible for visualizing the weather data.

When the Linux server or the RasPi were down, they should synchronize to
the latest available data automatically when they up again.

My question:
Which approach may be a good solution (and easy maintainable) for this
requirements?
May be a mqtt with two servers be used?
I am happy for every proposal.

Regards
Markus

Re: [weewx-user] Re: Oregon scientific WMR300 issues

2017-12-06 Thread Markus Benedikt Biewer
Hi Thomas,
I am not complaining (as Scott does) nor demanding help here and I also
tried myself (I have the WMR300 since half a year, then spent some weeks to
setup my Linux PC and I have been successful in installing weewx (which
makles me kinda proud, as I have no experience at all before with such
stuff). I ready through the documentation and tried to follow your docs to
change the driver but I did not succeed at this point. Then I contacted
Roland, see my first posting, he had the same problem and solved it by
downgrading libusb. I am stuck here, could not find postings here that
helped. Thats why I asked. I still look for possible solutions and hope
mwall's upcoming reply will hopefully help.

I also wrote to let you know (as the creator/maintainer of the weewx
package) to solve the problem at the roots as obviously everyone who has a
WMR300 expieriences this problem... Just a friendly notification, as we
here are all users of weewx (or will come here if in futuire are having the
same issue).

I am grateful for any help I can get.

Salut,
Markus

[weewx-user] Re: Oregon scientific WMR300 issues

2017-12-06 Thread Markus Benedikt Biewer
Hi Scott,
I am in contact with Roland (see my first posting in thirs thread) who also
had this problem.

https://groups.google.com/d/topic/weewx-user/YSz_IWnzOjE

As I wrote above, he has solved it by downgrading weewx to an older version
which changes libusb to a former version and then hinder apt-get to update
libusb in the future. Without further help I am not able to do the same
which is why i wrote here. Also I think, this is something that should be
solved in the current release of weewx package, because if not everyone
using a WMR300 will have the same issue in the future.

So the help is not for me and you only but for everyone who is interested
to use the current weewx with the Oregon Scientific WMR300 and I
desperately hope we can get this solved through the group here.

Salut,
Markus

Roland the wrote me a private mail, he wrote that the solution was:

--snip--
- I had to deinstall "libusb" and reinstalled it with an older version (he
could not remember the version number, but its in the thread above...)
- I also had to reconfigure apt in a way that libusb does not get updated
automatically
--snap--

In his earlier posting here (no data from station, link see above) he also
wrote:

--snip--
After some more digging and testing I came to the conclusion: It is not
weewx itself that causes the issue, but the WMR300 driver for some reason.
I downgraded to weewx 3.5.0 and everything worked fine. After copying the
WMR300 driver files I upgraded again to the latest version and the issue
was present again until I copied the driver version 0.10 to the location
/usr/share/weewx/weewx/drivers.

So, after all, I have a working configuration :-) Thanks for your support
--snap--

I can understand this procedure but I do not know how to do that at the
end. Is anyone willing to show me and scott how the actual steps to do look
like?

I tried this wiki also but was not of much help either.

Thanks very much!

[weewx-user] Oregon scientific WMR300 issues

2017-11-29 Thread Markus Benedikt Biewer
I am new to WeeWx and new to Linux as well. I run WeeWx latest version on a
Cubietruck running Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS
I tried to get WeeWx to run with my Oregon Scientific WMR300 but
unfortunately I had no success.

I tried to search the weewx user group. After reading that I got in contact
with Roland, the author in this thread:

https://groups.google.com/d/topic/weewx-user/YSz_IWnzOjE

Roland said, it is an issue with libusb, but it seems I can not get it
fixed without help of the user group here... my knowledge what to do is
much too limited.

Is anybody out there willing to help me? I have setup a ssh access okay,
even redirected from my LAN to the WAN (in case somebody would be willing
to access my cubietruck directly).

Salut from the german/french border,
Markus

[weewx-user] Re: WMR 200 Calibrate Barometer

2016-10-09 Thread Markus Roth
Thank you.

Yes i have the default US.

Im Germany that was the Problem. But to cange it from the default gave only
Problems by the support.
Therefore I do not change it.

Gave it not the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_System_of_Units
?
When it gave it for the Weather units then it was better to use it in the
next new version of weewx.

Only an improvement idea.

[weewx-user] Re: WMR 200 Calibrate Barometer

2016-10-09 Thread Markus Roth
Or must i set that to Software ?

This section controls the origin of derived values.

[StdWXCalculate]
# Derived quantities are calculated by this service. Possible values
are:
# hardware- use the value provided by hardware
# software- use the value calculated by weewx
# prefer_hardware - use value provide by hardware if available,
# otherwise use value calculated by weewx

pressure   = prefer_hardware
barometer  = prefer_hardware
altimeter  = prefer_hardware
windchill  = prefer_hardware
heatindex  = prefer_hardware
dewpoint   = prefer_hardware
inDewpoint = prefer_hardware
rainRate   = prefer_hardware

2016-10-09 Thread Markus Roth
Hello

i want to use StdCalibrate at the config file to Calibrate the Barometer.
I have 1 hPa to much.

But i not understand what i must to enter .

I Try pressure, barometer, and altimeter.

pressure = pressure - 1

Only pressure do anything but false it comes to 9xx hPa (from 1026)

Thank you for your Help.
