I confirm that after using update.php the table was succesfully created. However, I think it's unusual approach to use update.php for such wikis, installed from scratch. https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6545 Chad H. innocentkil...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||innocentkil...@gmail.com Status|REOPENED|RESOLVED Resolution||WONTFIX --- Comment #15 from Chad H. innocentkil...@gmail.com 2010-01-16 14:38:26 UTC --- (In reply to comment #9) Is this still of interest now that bug 2585 has been fixed? Bug 2585 got reverted, but that's neither here nor there. These two bugs can be implemented independently of another. Although, solving that is another way of getting at the desired result: not having the bot index the edit page. (In reply to comment #8) Ok, I guess there are two elements to the decision of accepting this patch or not. It is mainly redundant so in some cases might add a few bytes to a page increasing bandwidth and page load times, on the other hand some search engines might do what the tag says on the front of it rather than what is intended. Also some search engines may not understand the meta tags, having both doesn't appear to cause any harm. But it doesn't really have any added benefit. It just adds more bytes to the page. We already serve noindex, nofollow on the edit page itself, so serving it along with the link to the edit page would be redundant at best. As Rob pointed out in comment #5, the tag doesn't tell the bot to not follow the link. In all likelihood, the bot is probably loading the link anyway unless you're blocking it somewhere else; a noted workaround from the OP anyway. [Bug 22119] New: Enhance Blocking and tagging from checkuser interface: add new page
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22119 Summary: Enhance Blocking and tagging from checkuser interface: add new page Product: MediaWiki extensions Version: any Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: Normal Component: CheckUser AssignedTo: jschulz_4...@msn.com ReportedBy: l...@miltontrainworks.com Depends on: 12808 The enhancement to Special:Checkuser to allow blocking from the returned results page done in 12808 (https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12808) is hugely useful, for prolific sockmasters it saves a great deal of time and it's generally awesome. However I have two enhancement requests which I will enter as separate bugzilla entries. The first one is that often, there is a desire to do further investigation, even if it is clear that the accounts found need blocking. The block selected users button carries out the block on the same page that the results were presented on, losing the results found so that it can display the text the users X Y Z were blocked. It would be nice if there was a way to request the block be performed, but launch the result onto a new page instead of on the same page. While you can use the back button to return to the previous page this is not always optimal. Perhaps a check box to ask for a new page or something similar? Perhaps a change in default behavior? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l
[Bug 22120] New: Enhance Blocking and tagging from checkuser interface: add dropdowns

However I have two enhancement requests which I will enter as separate bugzilla entries. The first one was opened as 22119 (https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22119) The second request is that often, there are standard block message templates that are in use (this varies by wiki) or standard block reasons in use (this also varies by wiki) all of which it would be convenient to present in a dropdown list. The list of templates could be a new special:messages entry (analogous to how, for example, the list of valid licenses is presented on the upload page, or the list of block reasons is presented on the block page) For best results, since the templates often take parameters, after the selection is made, the template should then be editable so parameters can be included or additional text added or whatever, as now. This dropdown enhancement request applies to all three of the fields Replace user pages with: Replace talk pages with: Reason: The first two would be new messages but the reason dropdown could perhaps be taken from the current block reason list. I think that is the system message ipbreason-dropdown The way that behaves on the block page where you select it from the dropdown and it then populates an editable field is the desired behaviour here for all three fields. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

However, on those non-Commons wikis it displays not only the global usage of files fetched from Commons, it also erroneously displays its results even for locally uploaded files (where it shows the usage of the identically named file on Commons). See the linked URL for an example – the file is locally uploaded to cswp, however, there is also an identically named file on Commons (http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Ring.jpg), which is used on kowikt and ruwikt, and this information is displayed on cswp. https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1803 Roan Kattouw roan.katt...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||roan.katt...@gmail.com --- Comment #9 from Roan Kattouw roan.katt...@gmail.com 2010-01-17 04:58:09 UTC --- (In reply to comment #6) I would personally to see a feature like the external script from comment #3 be implemented into Special:Recentchanges, so it would only show the last edit from each page, just like Special:Watchlist does. In the projects I'm doing, this feature would be really helpful to keep on top of discussions in talk pages. You can use enhanced recent changes and it'll fold all changes to the same page on the same day into one. This gets pretty close to achieving what you're asking for except for the fact that it doesn't group across days (which is something I really would've liked to see back in the day that I still kept up on RC on a smaller wiki) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug.
