It would be useful to be able to enable this as the default setting for a wiki, for multiple reasons: - in some wikis a lot of power users enabled it already to find articles which need some care, and currently it slows down page loading for them because it breaks caching, so they are working slower than they could. - like red links, green links could bring in new editors by making readers realize that some of the linked articles need help. - they could also help readers waste less time because they could realize the article is a stub without clicking at it. Currently, enabling the stub threshold by default is not possible because (if I understand correctly) pages rendered with non-zero stub threshold are not cached at all. I still think a postprocessor is the way to go here. There'd be no other way to cache pages with nonzero stub threshold unless we want to add a lot more cache invalidation logic or accept outdated link coloring. And a postprocessor would let us get rid of cache fragmentation for some other preferences, and avoid having to purge caches in some cases (like page creation/deletion), and maybe other good stuff too. When save (or preview) a page with one of these tags, instead of seeing the updated page (or the preview of the updated page), my browser redirects to one of the newly-created pages. Thus, it seems that using the MediaWiki API, even internally, results in HTTP headers being set. Do you have something I can test this on? Else, can you see what occurs on trunk as of r89528? Not sure on the best way to address this one.
Timestamp in all cases, bar seemingly this one, are designed to be single.
Adding a timestamps (plural) type, for multi usage just seems daft, but
changing the underlying timestamp time type to an array, would mean going
through and doing $params['start'][0], else changing the validation to do
if ( $multi ) {
if ( !is_array ) {
$array = array( $array );
}
foreach item in array
validate timestamp
} else {
validate timestamp
}
Else something more like integer, check it's an array, and base it on that.
Which, I guess, is just another way of doing the stuff above too

The order of scripts is very predictable when you put them in the header. The order is unpredictable only when you put them were they are now - in the footer. As I said before please do make some tests before make some other false assumptions. The script/library I linked to does not provide all solutions (never said it did). It does provide solutions for easy asynchronous and synchronous loading of scripts. Ordering of script execution (script ready and run) would work if the library would be loaded in the header. It also gives more power and freedom to the developers. I believe developers know their script better and even if they don't it's generally better when they _can_ do something rather then you _make_them_ mostly do something good (and not allow them to always make the best of their scripts). BTW why would you want your CSS loaded before your script is loaded? Could you share a use case? I know use cases for loading styles before page is visible (which is not possible now and also not after the r85616). As for: Since r85616 (and possibly related revisions) implemented the 'top' positition, which I think was the main goal of this report, I'm marking this as FIXED again. if you intended the scope of this bug to be bigger, please open seperate bugzilla tickets for seperate features/bugs. This behavior is well documented and used in dozens of extensions. See
DatabaseUpdater::runUpdates()/doUpdates() and
DatabaseInstaller::createExtensionTables() if you don't believe me.
Thanks for pointing out. As OpenID already uses this hook since a while, there
appears to be another problem, perhaps a timing problem in MediaWiki installer
and OpenID.
Will report here soon, but close the bug now - because the mentioned hook
apparently solves the bug, or at least hints to a clean solution using an
existing mechanism.
