[Bug 37488] Trying to hide many revisions at once causes a 414 Request-URI Too Long error
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37488 --- Comment #2 from Jérémie Roquet arkano...@gmail.com 2012-06-25 08:44:02 UTC --- (In reply to comment #1) We could probably make the form a POST and have the action URL to be able to react to both POST and GET The main issue I see with this solution is that it's the same form which is used for diffs. While I don't think many people link to deletion pages, people often link to diff pages, and not having the parameters in the URL to copy-paste (even if GET is supported) would IMHO be an even bigger problem than the 414 error (which only affects users with sysop / oversight rights, under unusual circumstances). And what is more, this would break the navigation in the history, since modern browsers ask the user for the POST data to be sent again. Having two forms (one for diffs and one for deletion) would make sense (as there are separate submit buttons and unrelated input forms), and we could have the diff form using GET and the deletion form using POST. Unfortunately, I don't think it's possible to interweave forms in HTML… Thanks! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. To ensure compliance of our extensions with SQLite. Normal answer. I've no scenario where I need a SQLite working wiki installation with FlaggedRevs. My plan were each time I've to work on an extension, I would try it on my test SQLite wiki, so I can also improve compatibility with this SQL engine. [ Indexes issue ] The core tables indexes and +- 60 extensions already work fine on SQLite. In thix context, I think it would be interesting to improve this compatibility extension by extension. What would be the drawbacks to rename indexes? [Bug 37225] Several history entries for the same content
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37225 --- Comment #48 from Richard Guk richardg...@yahoo.com 2012-06-25 09:23:38 UTC --- Thanks for running those queries and making the data available. Apologies for the typo. Also, I shouldn't have included rc_new_len0 within the WHERE condition of trcmin (it defeats the HAVING condition which should have excluded previously-blanked pages), so the above results contain background noise of a few spurious unblanking edits. For reference, the following SQL should exclude these cases, and is reformatted to exclude some irrelevant columns and revdeleted rows (simplifying where null handling is not needed): -- SELECT trc.rc_timestamp, trc.rc_id, trc.rc_user, trc.rc_user_text, trc.rc_namespace, trc.rc_title, trc.rc_minor, trc.rc_bot, trc.rc_cur_id, trc.rc_this_oldid, trc.rc_last_oldid, trc.rc_new_len, trc.rc_deleted, trc.rc_logid, trc.rc_log_type, trc.rc_comment FROM recentchanges trc, ( SELECT rc_cur_id, MIN(rc_id) AS rc_id_min, MIN(rc_new_len) from recentchanges WHERE rc_type=1 GROUP BY 1 HAVING MIN(rc_new_len)0 ) trcmin WHERE trc.rc_old_len=0 AND trc.rc_type=1 AND trc.rc_cur_id=trcmin.rc_cur_id AND trc.rc_idtrcmin.rc_id_min AND trc.rc_deleted=0 ORDER BY 1 -- But it's probably not necessary to re-run a query, because the onset timing is clear if we filter out all non-mainspace edits and obvious mainspace blanking reverts. Oddly, the rc_last_oldid values seem to be correct, even though rc_old_len is always incorrect. As far as I can tell these codes are not valid characters in XML (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valid_characters_in_XML), with the possible exception of U+0085 which if possible should be translated to a newline (I think). https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37866 --- Comment #6 from Chad H. innocentkil...@gmail.com 2012-06-25 13:23:10 UTC --- (In reply to comment #4) They are already going to #wikimedia-operations, but that's not too useful if you're coding a change to the mediawiki config and looking at a different channel (eg. discussing the appropiate variable in #mediawiki). There's always chances that you'll be discussing something in a different channel than it's logged in. I think site config changes make more sense in -operations and the discussions are more likely to be going there than in #mediawiki. (In reply to comment #5) Some channels quoted those last 10 days on several bots reporting discussions: 1. #mediawiki 2. #wikimedia-tech 3. #wikimedia-dev 4. #wikimedia-operations 5. #mediawiki-i18n 6. #wikimedia-codereview 7. #wikimedia-commits I sympathize with people having difficulties to switch from one channel to another. [Bug 37930] New: Fancy box title should be removed or restyled
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37930 Web browser: --- Bug #: 37930 Summary: Fancy box title should be removed or restyled Product: MediaWiki extensions Version: master Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: Unprioritized Component: SemanticForms AssignedTo: yaro...@gmail.com ReportedBy: leo_wallen...@hotmail.com CC: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org Classification: Unclassified Mobile Platform: --- Created attachment 10791 -- https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/attachment.cgi?id=10791 Screenshot. The upload file button is not a button. The actual button not visible. When uploading files via the fancy box uploader, there is a very button like blob at the bottom of the box saying ”upload file”, or something similar in your language. Some users give up trying to upload a file after clicking this ”button” in vain. This is also related to the fact that the upload window is slightly too short (though this might depend on the interface language), so that the user needs to scroll down in order to find the real upload button. This could be fixed by removing/hiding the .fancybox-title alltogether and/or increasing the height of .fancybox-content to around 470px. We don't use [[foo]]nowiki/bar in articles. While it should be possible to do. It should not be something that WYSIWYG users should inadvertently do by accident. This should probably be handled with two changes: - For strict conversion afoo/abar should be converted properly to [[foo]]nowiki/bar - The UI of the visual editor should have a change to the user's interaction with link creation to make it harder to accidentally create things like afoo/abar. I'm not quite sure what the ui change should be. Perhaps something like making it so that when you try to create a link the selection might be altered to cover the full word. Something that would require the user to force the editor to use the selection that would create a nowiki/ instead of just accepting it as-is. Whatever the case, we do not want the user who partially selects a run of text and turns it into a link to inadvertently create a nowiki/ when they likely intended to make a link of the whole thing. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l
[Bug 37616] Article Feedback - Increase Test Sample to 10% of English Wikipedia (using article ID code)
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37616 --- Comment #17 from Fabrice Florin fflo...@wikimedia.org 2012-06-25 19:35:49 UTC --- As discussed in today's weekly meeting, here is our plan for gradual deployment of AFT5 in coming days: * Tue. June 25: increase to 1% of en-wiki (from 0.65% now) * Thu. June 28: increase to 2% * Tue. July 3: increase to 5% * Thu. July 5: increase to 10% Please let us know if you have any questions about this gradual deployment schedule. Matthias and Reha, please let us know how we can test that the lottery is working as intended on prototype, testing and production. It would be great if you could give us links to pages that should (or should not) be included in the lottery for prototype, testing and production. It would also be wonderful if you could share a simple way for us to look up the article ID, and compare it to your formula, so we can tell by the last two digits if it should be in the lottery or not, for each of the sample sizes above. The most critical test, of course, will be the first 1% sample, which we will want to test tomorrow. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l
