The English Wikipedia uses custom messages, so this patch won't change the
message there. Looking at the patch, I don't see translations. The English
Wikipedia uses {{broken ref}} to format the messages for the top languages.
It would be better to fix bug 21798 and give the proper error when the last
/ref is missing.

The English Wikipedia uses custom messages, so this patch won't change the
message there. Looking at the patch, I don't see translations. The English
Wikipedia uses {{broken ref}} to format the messages for the top languages.
Translations will be updated on translatewiki.net; you can ask an update on
en.wiki on the talk page of the message, with {{editprotected}}.

Adding a ref tag (e.g., a bibliographic citation) inside another ref tag
with a different group (e.g., an explanatory footnote), displays as desired in
VisualEditor, but when you save the page, it isn't visible because of Bug 20707
in Cite.php
This is most likely to happen with a ref-creating template like {{sfn}}, since
VisualEditor doesn't have the buttons to created nested ref tags directly.
