If an extension can be written to work with both CentralAuth and shared user tables, that's a plus rather than adding more bloat to CentralAuth. The extension on the wiki appears to use shared user tables, which is not what we use. We use the CentralAuth extension. Some kind of global preference would be required. The extension is therefore not suitable for Wikimedia. The extension could call a hook which CentralAuth ties into to check whether the user on meta == local user. I don't know why a user preference would be required, we don't have one to turn on/off userjs/css. If a user wants it disabled, they just blank/delete the page. The extension would probably need to be re-written to use ResourceLoader, moved to git, etc. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56015 --- Comment #3 from Brion Vibber br...@wikimedia.org --- If this and mobileview were both available through action=query we could fetch them both together in one API hit not sure offhand if we can do two actions together but my impression is no. However if we can throw the API requests on HTTP(S) with pipelining on, in theory we can make both requests on the existing format without additional connection overhead... will make a note to experiment with the low-level keepalive/pipelining options in the HTTP libraries we'll be using. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 56030] http://reportcard.wmflabs.org/ is not updating automatically
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56030 --- Comment #3 from Erik Zachte ezac...@wikimedia.org --- The wikistats data is resource intensive and can't be computed for month X-1 in time for this meeting. This is actually the dumps which take up to three weeks into the next month to arrive. Only a live stream of all relevant tables to hadoop could fix that. to simply move the computation to hadoop not sure how simple that would be though, I've seen some wild optimism in earlier estimations on hadoop, but for sure this is where we want to go Also for some months, pageview data doesn't get delivered because there are problems with wikistats data that require manual intervention; in those cases we use month X-2 pageview data. This is a mistake. Page views counts are updated every day. There is a manual step in Limn (and for some files in Wikistats, but page view data could be sent automated right now). So only when Metrics Meeting is on 1st or 2nd day of the month, latest pageview data don't make in into Limn. I use the email notifications for the change on my watch list pages and it is also enabled for all the notifications. I faced the following issues for the Bengali emails and i think these should be fixed soon. * Sometimes a new line appeases between the words of a page name, and sometimes new line appears after 4/5 words in a sentence. I think we are using a fixed DIV width for these texts. If it will be removed then it may be fixed. * Unicode URLs are not readable at all. [Bug 56057] Tests should not rely on the existence of specific pages (be wiki agnostic)
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56057 --- Comment #1 from Chris McMahon cmcma...@wikimedia.org --- This is by design. Browser tests in the public repo are intended to use the beta cluster, test2wiki, and/or production as targets, and we are in a position to manage the contents of those test environments. We put this in place from the very beginning to a) avoid the works on my machine problems b) keep the setup/teardown overhead to a minimum and c) run the tests in a complex environment that approximates production as closely as possible. We have a few tests that create new pages where it makes sense to test creating new pages. There is no reasonable mechanism by which to delete pages in Mediawiki. So, if you want a suite of tests to run against a local Mediawiki environment, you could do a number of things: * maintain a branch of tests that do not depend on particular test data being in place * at runtime, swap out the existing foo_page.rb files for similar files that point to the URL of your choice, override the browser.url variable, or otherwise alter the existing value for e.g. Barack_Obama * maintain a minimal set of test data in your local env for the tests to pass without alteration -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. That can be too low in some cases when a few extensions are loaded. The command line limit is actually set to -1 in /etc/php5/cli/php.ini . However, due to an issue with phpsh (https://github.com/facebook/phpsh/issues/49), that gets set to -2M, which MW then raises to 50M. The solution is to set /etc/php5/cli.php.ini to something suitably high, specified in megabytes. For comparison, the Apache php.ini have 128M. [Bug 9360] Specify default language on a per-page basis
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9360 --- Comment #15 from Bawolff (Brian Wolff) bawolff...@gmail.com --- (In reply to comment #14) (In reply to comment #13) Id63573a7f introduces page content language as an integral part of a Page entity. The patch needs rebase and it's still labeled PoC/DON'T MERGE; it seems it's blocked on https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/62227/1 getting a solution about qqq and qqx being removed from $wgDummyLanguageCodes. Given that the changes don't seem related, its not that hard to rebase it in a way so it no longer depends on the other change. (In reply to comment #9) Hmm, I don't think a special page is a good way to handle this. Imho ideally each page should have a selector where you can change the page language, which is then stored in the database as a property of the page, possible using [[mw:ContentHandler]] which Nemo_bis linked above. By special page, I was more just thinking as opposed to a {{#page_language:foo}} parser function in wikitext. Although my original reasoning was based on what (I believe) is a misconception on page language affecting the translation of parser function magic words. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55978 Addshore addshorew...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |INVALID --- Comment #3 from Addshore addshorew...@gmail.com --- So after a fair amount of detective work.. A CA token needs to be set for each domain on login (as with the wikimedia sites.) Hence this fixed our problems https://github.com/Orain/ansible-playbook/commit/9e6336b059f42560e28104b6e04108007a3f86a5 (later altered to be a more dynamic fix for the future) Previous to this a login on espiral would create a CA token for the orain.org domain. espiral could not use this so it would then attempt to get a new CA token and session for espiral which it would do again, but again the CA token would remain under the orain.org domain not espiral. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 54782] Mobile and zero graphs lack api PageViews
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54782 --- Comment #19 from christ...@quelltextlich.at --- (In reply to comment #18) * If it's mobile web (e.g., the stock Browser on Android or the stock Safari on iOS), then mdot or zerodot would be domains in play from what I can tell, yes. Although the mdot and zerodot domain's EditURIs refer to the desktop API endpoint? [...] Did mobile in the subject line of this bug and the Mingle card refer solely to the app, or also to the mobile web? For me it's about both. I discovered the problem through the above provided examples, and they seem to be for the app. However, the issue is not limited to the app. For example zgrep -e '-1210387371' /a/squid/archive/sampled/sampled-1000.tsv.log-20131010.gz is an iPhone (non WikipediaMobile) requesting the desktop rsd with a mobile site referrer. So this visitor sticks to the documentation on how to discover the real api endpoint, and ends up at the desktop site api with his mobile phone coming from the mobile site. But maybe those two are separate concerns? If you think that WikipediaMobile and non-WikipediaMobile requests are separate things, let me know, and I'll split the bug. [...] That said, it seems like in the zero.tsv.log-* files there are lots of api.php hits that have their domain names in the subdomains of m.wikipedia.org [...] Yes. The api requests on the mdot and zerodot subdomains are there. They are totally ok. [...] Sounds like we probably need to do a videoconference working session. I'd love to.
