However, as you say it is technically challenging, and we did not intend the initial version to have this support. (In reply to Daniel Robbins from comment #0) A possible work-around to make things a bit more bearable in the mean-time would be to add some kind of icon in the page history to indicate revisions that have annotations, so that the maintainer of the page can go through the page's history and look for annotations from people. It should be possible to use the vagrant plugin API's `action_hook` call as part of the MediaWiki-Vagrant plugin to install a routine to run following `vagrant destroy` that would clean up the various puppet-managed settings files in settings.d. This would mimic the manual `rm` of the extension settings.
