There is no way to edit part of a link at all, the only way around it is to unlink the whole phrase and relink the part you want linked. This is not usually a problem, as you can work around by starting from after the space after the link. However, this is counter intuitive if you want to add punctuation after the link (add it after the space, delete the space, add space after the punctuation). It also means it is impossible to add unlinked text when the link ends the line, as happens often on disambiguation pages. For example try adding context to the links at Mandi#People. Apparently a workaround is to insert a line break, add the text and then delete the line break. I made sure sec_case_sensitive_logon is FALSE (also restarted DB just in case as it said it may take a while) 2. Dropped and recreated the user as per my post #9 3. Made the installation as per the PDF file in #9 4. Run manually the INSERT statement from your #10 again to see if something changed. I am really out of ideas. Could it be something oci8 or PHP (5.3.3-1ubuntu9.10) related? I made ULTRAWIKI database entirely for this installation. I completely erased the mediawiki folder from my apache to make sure, there is no caching from older install attempts. In my opinion, this is outside of the scope of what we want to provide with ULS. If switching between one keyboard layout and the native keyboard layout is wanted, I consider this already an expert use case, and I would suggest finding specialised software (or operating system supported features) to make fulfilling the need possible. Adding this to ULS would increase the complexity of the solution, most likely increasing difficulty of the basic use cases, or allowing more room for confusion because of the increases number of use cases. I also do not see value in adding this feature for a large group of potential users. I'm assigning lowest priority to this feature request. Using Firefox 24, Ubuntu 13.04
What I did:
1. I was editing a page[1], made several small changes (fixing typos,
rephrasing)
2. I clicked Save page which brings up the save dialog
3. I wrote a summary and clicked Save page again
4. The blue throbber line appears, disappears and leaves me with the save
dialog still open (not saving anything)
5. I open the JS console and when I try to save again I see:
a. The HTML is submitted to the API
b. Before the response arrives (?) a JS error appears: TypeError: editApi is
undefined[2]
c. The API responds with a 200 OK which includes a JSON error[3]
When I open the JavaScript console I see the following: 1) The HTML is
submitted to the API, and while that request to the API is in transit a JS
error appears:

Almost all of the modifications we have suggested and wanted (for matters of technical integrity, user interface experience and individual freedom of choice) are now incorporated into the ULS as far as Malayalam language is concerned. More than 24 hours has passed. No one seems to have raised any new or persisting problems after the new changes. Most of the veteran editors and proponents of Malayalam Wikipedia have come back to their regular activities. Thank you all for the kindness and understanding that was put forth during this rather inconvenient period. I think now we can close this (and most related bugs) as RESOLVED.
