This should be easy enough to implement: - in RedirectCreationInteractor, rename checkEmpty() to checkCanOVerride() - in checkCanOVerride(), use an EntityTitleLookup to get the entity's Title object. - if Title::isDeleted returns true, it's ok to create the redirect, so checkCanOVerride should return normally. For testing, it's probably best to use a mock Title returned from the mock EntityTitleLookup, so no actual page needs to be created and deleted. It should get an additional parameter, $wikiId, that would cause any links to be interpretet as interwiki links to that wiki. Linker::formatComment() It uses Linker::formatLinksInComment() internally, which already supports the $wikiId parameter for this purpose, so formatComment would just need to pass it through. formatAutocomments() may also get such a parameter, but since it returns wikitext which will then be processed by formatLinksInComment, care must be taken to not apply the interwiki prefix twice. First, it would register a change when the code of the article stays the same, which makes little sense. If we want to make the documentation match the way people have actually been using Time, we should explain that if //after// and //before// are both set to 0, the event occurred some time during the period designated by truncating the time in accord with the //precision// value. So if //time// = +1790-04-17T00:00:00Z, //precision// = 11, //after// = //before// = 0 and //timezone// = 0 then the event could have happened any time between 1790-04-17T00:00:00Z and 17-04-17T24:00:00Z. This differs from normal technical notation, where +1790-04-17T00:00:00Z ± 0 days would mean **exactly** +1790-04-17T00:00:00Z. The inability to designate a time zone with the user interface, making most of the dates in the database wrong, is not something that can be fixed with documentation; that's a problem for a different ticket. It may be a stretch, but I do not think anybody is using these bits of the
JSON. People use the "label" and "aliases" fields.
But even without that, what's the point of returning some fields in one
language and other fields in the **same** data structure in an **other**
language? What's the use case for that? As I said, as an "immediate
translation" option, why not. But why by default?

Status quo: ComparativeValueParserFactory has one relevant method: newComparativeValueParser( DumpMetaInformation $dumpMetaInformation ) which returns a ComparativeValueParser based on $dumpMetaInformation and the formatter factory freturned by the private method buildComparativeValueParserFactory(). buildComparativeValueParserFactory() takes a ValueParserFactory, overrides some of the "builder" callbacks, and then constructs a new ValueParserFactory. However, it is now no longer possible to access the "builder" callbacks in a ValueParserFactory. Outline for a fix: - ComparativeValueParserFactory::newComparativeValueParser should use the ValueParserFactory passed to the constructor directly. - buildComparativeValueParserFactory should be moved to ExternalValidationServices. It should take a list of factory callbacks from DataTypeDefinitions::getParserFactoryCallbacks(), override some as appropriate, and then construct a ValueParserFactory from that. - The unused newXxxValueParser should be removed (or moved to private methods in ExternalValidationServices). - The DataTypeDefinitions should be injected into ExternalValidationServices via the constructor. The DataTypeDefinitions is owned by the WikibaseRepo top level factory.
