TASK DESCRIPTIONFollowing the discussion in T211800, assuming for now a single entity type can only be provided by single Wikibase instance, make it possible for wikibase to access entities provided by multiple sources. For now, only direct database database access is considered. The general idea would be to define "sources" that are providing entities of particular type. Services providing access to entity data will be defined per source (i,e. a particular service is configured to access the database of given source/instance/repository). Wikibase will determine which source-specific service to use to access data of particular entity based on the entity-type vs source configuration. In any case, if you want to keep the traceback, it would be interesting to "only" show a (reasonably long) head and a (reasonably long) tail. If timeout expires while you're still receiving data, you will get a terribly long, unusable HTML page with all the data as a part of the traceback. You can reproduce this problem by running...

## Problem
Licensing contributions for structured data are currently not listed on Commons.
## Solution
All structured data from the file and property namespaces are available under the Creative Commons CC0 License. We need a message that states this clearly to users before they publish contributions. Commons will use the same text that Wikidata uses because it has already been reviewed and approved by the legal department, and it's useful to have this kind of language be consistent across projects.
# Requirements
Users should see this message whenever the Edit button has been selected for any structured data contribution, and not be shown again once the licensing terms have been accepted.

Lucas_Werkmeister_WMDE added a comment. I think stack traces are more of an issue in PHP because there they include function call parameters? In Java, that’s not the case. As a user of the query service, the stack trace is occasionally useful to me to find out what’s wrong, and how I can work around it; for example, the other day I was running into exceptions that were reported as timeouts, but were actually MWAPI problems. So I don't see any problem here. I should point out that in the original files enwiki-20190101-pages-meta-history10.xml-p2534537p2554779.bz2 and wikidatawiki-20190101-pages-meta-history27.xml-p56428595p56649675.bz2, the revison counts were comparable. 1500850 vs 1484162, but the line counts of the uncompressed content were not: 693941886 vs 28694664 lines. That's due to the very particular structure of a wikidata entry as stored, and it seems that structure is one of the worst cases for the standard bzip2 implementation. Georgian is a particularly troublesome example. There is a long controversy about the usage of capital letters in its alphabet, and about their technical implementation. Until this is cleared up, let's not mess with user input. As suggested a few times above, automatic capitalization just shouldn't be applied anywhere. It may make English and Dutch look better, but it isn't necessary. And in some languages it is just harmful. This should be completely removed. In Georgian, we don't use capitalization. From T196073#4825203, it looks like @MaxSem found the PrimarySources code as an unmerged gerrit patch set, and offered some initial feedback (thanks!) However, this isn't typical of a standard security review as performed by the #security-team (see mw documentation). The #Security-team's expectations, in addition to receiving a request like this ticket would be: The code to be reviewed would be nearly ready for production deployment. It seems like PrimarySources may be in some extended testing phases and/or pilot launches, so I'm not sure it meets this criteria at the moment. Please correct me if this is not the case. Per this documentation, we typically expect Gerrit to be the canonical location for any Wikimedia code to be security-reviewed. We can work with an unmerged patch set, but I think there was some initial confusion as the Gerrit repository only had the code of conduct file in it (and still does) and we typically don't try to hunt things down on Github. It will soon be a requirement for submitters of security reviews to provide some kind of working test environment (Dockerfile, etc) or instructions on configuring such an environment (i.e. extension installation, dependencies, oddities, etc.) with any security review request. I currently do not see anything like this mentioned within this ticket or within any READMEs or other documentation (especially for the java backend) which would complicate or greatly inhibit the success of this review. Lucas_Werkmeister_WMDE added a comment. It seems to me that this whole task assumes that the Turtle serialization, /Q1.ttl, is really a separate document. But that’s far from clear to me: my first reaction would be to say that /Q1 is the real document, and consumers shouldn’t care whether it redirects to Q1.ttl or serves Turtle directly, and always look for license statements about /Q1. This also seems to match our documentation, which names Special:EntityData/Q1 as the data URI and only mentions Q1.ttl as a convenience feature for situations where content negotiation is not possible. However, I’m not sure if this interpretation is consistent with the HTTP 303 See Other response we currently use to redirect from /Q1 to /Q1.ttl. According to this Quarry query, about six million enwiki pages use the sitelinks only for, well, the sitelinks (i. e. SITELINK_USAGE but not OTHER_USAGE), out of almost eight million pages using Wikidata at all. That would be approximately 75% of pages where this optimization might apply. However, changes to sitelinks don’t seem to be as common as T44783#2587386 makes it sound, unless I’m mistaken: according to this Quarry query, there were around 100k sitelink changes in the past week, compared to over five and a half million changes overall, i. e. 1.8% of changes. (Though this might miss wbeditentity edits that only touched the sitelinks.)
