  Explored in detail with @Ladsgroup  .. a script that tries to identify all 
orphans will end up doing a full table scan. That's the case in the snippet 
approach in a previous comment.
  
  As pointed out by @Addshore, we will have to go with a solution that uses the 
information about which terms have been updated/deleted as part of the write 
operation. The actual clean-up will happen in a triggered post-request job, but 
it should be passed the terms(ids) that have been touched.

  This seems to happen as well whenever the field `Spelling variant of the 
Lemma` is present on the page with a value. So once you hit back:
  
  - you can reproduce the effect again just by reloading that page.
  - The effect is not present if you clear the value inside `Spelling variant 
of the Lemma` and reload.
  - The effect appears again if you enter again some value in `Spelling variant 
of the Lemma`, focus outside of it and reload agian.
  
  Ah this is low-prio already 
  
  do we know how many editors hit the back button when they are creating 
multiple lexemes, which is a use-case that we probably need to design a better 
solution for?
  
  The fix might turn out to be a simple one, but investigating it might take 
time that we can put into figuring out what would a solution for creating 
multiple entities (items/properties/lexemes) in series might look like?

  This is happenning due to `z-index` being set to 0 on an ancestor html 
element `div.mw-body-content`.

  question is why that z-index was set to 0. If we cannot remove it, I'm afraid 
the only solution is to change OOUI widget used here so that it moves the popup 
element as a direct child of `body` (usual solution for in popup libraries to 
avoid this problem) which is not a small thing and not in our scope.
  
  So our options:
  
  - **cheapest, not sure if possible yet** remove `z-index` on
  - **very expensive, should be possible** change OOUI widget so that it uses 
the proper solution for this know html limitation with `z-index`
  
  Let's try the first and investigate/get-feedbcak on it first?

TASK DESCRIPTION
  Last february I removed all soft hyphens (U+00AD) from the labels on 
Q57730933 , but over time, different 
users have (inadvertently) added them back in. The third user who did this, was 
able to tell me that their source for the labels is WDQS. They provided this 
query 

 which (currently) reproduces the problem. If you run this query and copy+paste 
the label "Hajo Beeckman" in a capable text editor, you will notice it has a 
soft hyphen between k and m, while if you do this from the web interface, it 
doesn't. So it seems to me that WDQS returns stale data, at least in this case.

  @agray The SPARQL queries indeed select distinct items per property x 
property intersection... back to the drawing board: what is missing in my data?
  I will have to dig deep to find out, the Pyspark ETL code for this dashboard 
is already looking into all statements, claims, and references. I fear it might 
be related to non-deterministic operations in Spark that could have affected 
the completeness of the datasets, but I've done everything to prevent such 
effects. I'm a bit puzzled, but I will find out the cause this or the other 
way. Thank you very much for testing.

  `git bisect` in OOUI points at rGOJU2d4c8af00035: MenuTagMSW: Use 
'highlightOnFilter' flag in MenuSelectWidget 
,
 so CCing author @Esanders and +2er @Mooeypoo for their information, since this 
might affect other OOUI users as well and I don’t know if the OOUI team wants 
to backport the fix somewhere or anything like that.
  
  I’ll try to fix this tomorrow. In the meantime, here’s a short reproducer

  Hm, as far as I can tell from local testing, this regressed between 
1.33.0-wmf.20 and wmf.21, so it would have broken on Wikidata around 2019-03-13 
.
  
  …and I just realized that this is exactly  what @Fnielsen wrote (for some 
reason I misread his comment as //April// 13 and was confused about the 
mismatch), so that makes perfect sense. Investigation continues…

TASK DESCRIPTION
  Right now, the only error URL shortener produces is "URL shortening failed". 
We probably can do better and look into the HTTP response and discern the 
reason why it failed - whether URL was too long, or it was frequency 
limitation, or network issue - and have proper error messages for each case.

  I dropped it for now. Especially, if we also talk about direct access, then 
it might start to get confusing. Because, even if one sets a sitelink to a 
Wikipedia page, one obviously could not use direct access to link back to the 
custom repo-wiki. Now it should be easier to follow.

  @GoranSMilovanovic As per @agray : No -- my numbers were counting distinct 
items with the external IDs, rather than distinct statements, so should exactly 
match what you're aiming to compute.

  @GoranSMilovanovic thanks! Looking back at my tests for P.1614, these are the 
new numbers in the overlap data column (tables view, left hand column). They're 
a lot higher, but I think they're still incomplete.
  
  - P.1614/P.214 overlap - reported as 1654, should be ~2807
  - P.1614/P.2015 overlap - reported as 1194, should be ~2369
  - P.1614/P.1415 overlap - reported as 1650, should be ~3171 (SPARQL for all 
three )
  
  Checking some random other pairs:
  
  - P.1802/P.213 overlap - reported as 3035, should be ~5707 (SPARQL 
)
  - P.2042/P.1816 overlap - reported as 532, should be ~1113 (SPARQL 
)
  - P.2040/P.5037 overlap - reported as 8393, should be ~11163 (SPARQL 
)
  - P.402/P.1566 overlap - reported as 31675, should be ~62623 (SPARQL 
)
  
  The SPARQL for all of these *should* be ignoring multiple instances and only 
counting each item once, so I think this is still a real undercount. It's 
interesting that they're mostly around the same range (50-60%, one outlier at 
75%).

  please find a screenshot of what chrome does by default in case of a sneak 
peek into alias editing. The //aliases// component has a blue **border** (as 
defined) because it has "focus within", the individual //alias// has the chrome 
default **outline** because it has actual focus. So far the individual alias 
focus style is not explicitly modeled. I advocate to a) explicitly model it 
[i.e. not leave it up to the browser] b) when modeling it to please consider 
the previous link.

  Side note – you don’t have to enter any grammatical features by hand if you 
use the Wikidata Lexeme Forms  tool :) 
@Fnielsen perhaps you’d like to add some templates in Danish

  This is also happening whenever the auto-completion popup list is closed and 
reopened.. so effectively, it is working as expected only the first time the 
list appears, regardless of which item is added.

  Overview/Status report for this task:
  
  1. The data engineering procedures in Apache Spark are re-factored;
- we are using a much larger dataset now,
- **processing everything from statements, claims, and references**
- (note @Envlh your comment in T204440#5111313 
 was of crucial importance 
for me to figure what went wrong with the overlap data; I was accessing the 
JSON WD data model incorrectly in Spark; thank you);
  
  2. This change implies a different visualization approach in this dashboard 
:
- the identifier graph needs to be pre-processed with MDS 
 to produce a 
meaningful layout;
- this and other computations over large datasets are now making the 
dashboard too heavy on the client-side (i.e. very slow to response), so
  
  3. I have informed @RazShuty in our 1:1 today that I will be:
- moving all computations away from the dashboard to the back-end 
(stat1007, in this case);
- the dashboard will then be downloading most of the outputs as already 
pre-processed and visualize only.
  
  @Pintoch Your observation about the classes will be taken into account as 
soon as the above described "heavy" things are fixed. Thank you for your 
patience.
  
  @agray @Envlh @Jheald @VIGNERON Thank you for testing and reporting on your 
findings. You can check the dashboard for data integrity now, **but please take 
into your account the following**:
  
  - everything from statements, claims and references is processed;
  - all cases of multiple use of a particular identifier in a particular item 
are discarded: in our dataset, the identifier is either used, or not used, with 
an item;
  - as described, the dashboard is currently very slow to respond, so you will 
have to be very patient if you want to test it now. I will decompose it today 
and send all the computations that were taking place in the front-end to one of 
our number crunchers.  Following that operation (I report here as soon as it is 
completed) the dashboard should be light on the client-side and more 
responsive. Thank you.

  I don't think there is a specific reason for this. It's a "heading" in the 
sense that it's followed by more detailed, and it "looked right" at the time. 
But the choice of  is dubious. Replacing it should not be a problem.

  I don't think (as an editor) that's a problem. The wrong edit, and the one 
that should be reverted, is the one with identical label and description. 
Unless low-level data looses its integrity or Wikidata crashes (I don't think 
so) in the very unlikely event of reverting to an edit with identical label and 
description, I think this option would be equally great.
