  Unfortunately, I have to come back to you concerning this again.
  
  As we are now planning to re-run the campaign, I checked again and only now 
realised, that the test registration on July 30 following this link: 
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wikimedia_Deutschland/LerneWikipedia?campaign=WMDE_2021_wikipost_4b_1
 has not been tracked, although there is neither ?? nor # involved..
  The only test-registration that has been tracked was when I followed a link 
not containing lernewikipedia: 
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:QueerFilm?campaign=WMDE_2021_wikipost_1_11
  Hence, might there be a general problem with the tracking of 
Lernewikipedia.de?
  
  I tested it once again yesterday, following this link: 
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wikimedia_Deutschland/LerneWikipedia?campaign=WMDE_2021_mmb_1
  and it seems that it was tracked.
  
  I am confused now and wonder if it might be better not to use 
lernewikipedia.de for tracking for our next campaign.

  URL parameters are not automatically passed on to subsequent page requests. 
That is where "Adam's hack" comes into play: On dewiki, the campaign parameter 
is stored in a cookie if it starts with "WMDE_". When completing the 
registration, the cookie's value (the campaign tag) is used if there was no 
campaign tag in the URL.
  
  One more thing: It also seems that the section linking never worked, because 
there is no element with the ID "Schritt1c" on that page.

  All campaign user registrations, independently of the page visited prior to 
registration, are tracked by our analytics code. In effect, the user 
registrations that we find in the campaign public data directory are absolutely 
everything that we have, i.e. any user registered with any of the campaign tags 
is found there. Of course, user names are anonymized first.

  I think you need to talk to someone experienced in setting up campaigns, and

of the campaign setup and see why no pageviews for those three URLs were not 
caught in our `wmf.webrequest` table. This does not happen ordinarily - 
actually, I don't remember that anything similar ever happened in any of our 
WMDE New Editors campaigns since march 2017.

  as we started one week belated, we have only proceeded with 3 Newsletters 
instead of 6. 
  Hence, we will have to prolongue the project after returning from holidays.

  I have just realized that even if the double quotation marks are removed from 
the URLs some tags are still observed as having a quotation mark attached. For 
whatever reason this happens, I will simply clean that up in the analytics code 
directly.

  No problem. The analytics code will work just fine with the new tags until 
they encompass the `WMDE_2021_wikipost` string - I hope that will be the case?

  At the moment I am preapring new tags for the 2nd and 3rd newsletter 
campaigns, who will be sent on 7 and 14 July. I've also noticed the ?? - does 
it matter? Shall I change them? The other tags remain the same.
  I will let you know as soon as I have finished preparing the  tags for NL 
2+3, so that you can prepare the tracking ok?
