I am grateful to all those who made positive comments on this listserv about my apprehension concerning an on line disucssion about non formal education. They have encouraged me to continue with the endeavor. But I can not do it alone; I need help. Please, could you make your comments and suggestions on the page that I have been developing? While you can resize the image directly in the [Image] information,
the whole image is downloaded every time the page is displayed and
there is additional processing to resize it. This takes time and uses
bandwidth and processing.
Consider making a smaller or thumbnail image that is already resized.
I use Irfanview - a free image editting application. It works really
well and the price is right!

You also can also try several sizes of the picture by changing the 320px.

I have uploaded a huge A4 image OR cover design in GIF format
I want to reduce it and place it at the top of the page I am creating
for my workshop-
It goes on:http://www.wikieducator.org/IAS/OR/Cape_Town_Programme
(right next to the Content box)
can someone help me?

On my web site, I use tables for those kinds of things, but I did not
know how to use tables on WikEd.
I took out the second dimensions images, and put the three side by
side, reducing their size a bit to make them fit. I left the old
version on the site to show people for a while

That's right Gladys I usually use *IrfanView* it can do nearly anything you
need for free drag the Image onto the IrfanView Icon from the Image menu
choose Resize/Resample a number of standard image sizes are available
800x600 web pages are often 320 pixels wide by 240 pixels tall.

you need for free drag the Image onto the IrfanView Icon from the Image menu
choose Resize/Resample a number of standard image sizes are available
800x600 web pages are often 320 pixels wide by 240 pixels tall.
