[Wikimedia-l] Wikimedaia Community User Group Türkiye 2023 Report

Dear Wikimedians,

2023  has been a hectic year for Wikimedia Community User Group Türkiye and
the people of Türkiye. On the one hand there was a huge disaster and pain
at the beginning of the year;  on the other hand there were celebrations
during the entire year for the centenary of the Turkish Republic; the
parliamentary and presidential elections were also held in 2023.  In this
atmosphere wikimedians in the country felt utmost responsibility for
fighting against misinformation/disinformation; did their best in their
wiki contributions and presented their work as a tribute to the centenary
of the Republic. Please find the annual report of the Wikimedia User Group

[Wikimedia-l] Annual Report for Wikimedia User Group Turkey

Thank you for the question! During the year our user group activities were
focused on only increasing contributions to Wikipedia. In 2021 we might
work on Wikisource as well; particularly Turkish Language Association was
interested in taking part in projects related to Wikisource, they have
expressed that WikiSource is one of the projects they benefited most in
their work. We also want to encourage high school students to contribute to
Wikisource, during the year we had events only in universities, we have met
with a small group of highschool students to talk about ways of
contributing projects for the first time today :) It was great!

The Annual report for Wikimedia Community User Group Turkey (WMTR) is

This was the first year after the lifting of the Wikipedia block in Turkey.
We are so happy to have free access to Wikipedia and proud to share our
