[WISPA] Anyone had success with SR9 and Trango CPEs at 900Mhz?
Read here awhile back that a new Trango 900Mhz cpe used the same Atheros chipset that the SR9 uses. Has anyone tracked this down? Is it a no-go? That is not the case. Trango is DSSS, Atehros is OFDM. [WISPA] 900 mhz AMS system
A rural water district cuts through the center of our network. Their automatic meter reading system operates on 916.5 at @ ½ db. They are having problems reading meters near one of our cells that sits 2 Mhz off them. That was the only slot available on that tower, so we cant really move without major disruption. Their system only works on 916.5 Has anyone had to work through this? If you have can you hit me offlist? Im interested in what compromise was worked out. Matt - don't quote me on this but we were in Midland, Tx about 4 months ago and I saw plenty of gear hanging. Not sure who it is, but someone out there is playing with wireless. IF you want to do something in Midland/Odessa area, I have SEVERAL tower sites there available to you. Re: [WISPA] 900 mhz AMS system
Try flipping polarities of one of the systems if possible. If they use point to point yagis, as I have seen often, then setting the water company to a different polarity to you should be a simple fix. How wide (in megahertz) is the bandwidth of their system? How wide is yours? I know Waverider is 5.5 MHz wide. What are you using for 900 MHz? [WISPA] Wireless Technology Summit – Dharamsala 2006
All, Sometimes you have to look beyond your own backyard. :-) It is good to know our knowledge has spread worldwide. Regards, Dawn DiPietro Wireless Technology Summit – Dharamsala 2006 The Tibetan Technology Center (TibTec) will host the AirJaldi Summit on wireless technologies in Dharamsala, India in October 2006. TibTec has partnered with the Djursland International Institute of Rural Wireless Broadband (DIIRWB) and will join the World Summits on Free Information Infrastructure (WSFII) to deliver a conference and extended wireless training workshops in October. The conference will be held from October 22nd through 25th in Dharamsala, India. The training workshops will span a ten period directly after the conference. The theme of the summit is “Empowering Communities Through Wireless Networks”. The Air Jaldi Summit will attract wireless technology experts and community activists from India, Europe, North America, Israel, and Australia. A list of confirmed presenters can be found on the AirJaldi Web site under the “Program” link. The organizers are also pleased to announce confirmation of three distinguished keynote speakers: Dr. Roger Downer (Ireland), President Emeritus of the University of Limerick; Mr. David Hughes (USA), longtime champion of wireless technologies; and, Mr. Vic Hayes (Netherlands), the “father” of WiFi. The Air Jaldi Summit comes in direct response to international interest in the Dharamsala Community Wireless Mesh Network. It was developed in cooperation with the Dharamsala Information Technology Group, an organization chaired by the Tibetan Computer Resource Center and some of the region’s leading information technology professionals. The Mesh backbone includes over 30 nodes , all sharing a single radio channel. Broadband Internet services are provided to all mesh members. The total upstream Internet bandwidth available is 6Mbps. There are over 2000 computers connected to the Mesh, and about 500 have Internet access. Hi, We just had this exact problem last month. We switched from veritcal to horizontal on our AP and I think we fixed the problem. I haven't heard on their latest reading, so I'm not sure. RE: [WISPA] 900 mhz AMS system
Thats a thought, but rigging an HPOL omni @ 800' is a bit of a grind, not to mention the truck rolls and customer touches. We cant add more gear to that tower per the owner, only swap antenna for antenna. That rules out multiple sectors. c -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Travis Johnson Sent: Wednesday, August 16, 2006 4:30 PM To: WISPA General List Subject: Re: [WISPA] 900 mhz AMS system Hi, We just had this exact problem last month.
