That is exactly the question
The real problems will come when they reach critical mass and start
originating more calls than ATT and Verizon combined.
At $20 a year and mass advertising they should reach that point very soon.

2009-06-19 Thread George Rogato
Surprisingly to me, it's kinda caught on so much so that quite a few of
my subs use it.

Lately I was toying with the thought of doing a Magic Jack bundle with
my service.

Of course I have my own voip offering through VOX and I'm not sure if it
would take away from that or add to it.

I wonder if offering a low end deal like Magic Jack is going to hurt
OFN's image or help bolster it..

Curiously, I think I might be alright with something like that.

Re: [WISPA] Magic Jack

2009-06-19 Thread Bret Clark
I was reading a business article about itseems that right now it's
being sold as a lose leader and I believe the $19.95 is based only one
year deal that could change to a monthly fee after that; emphasis on
could, so far it hasn't.

I think their ultimate goal is to hit critical mass then hope one of the
big boys comes and buys them out for a gazzillion dollars. But right now
they are sort of burning the candle at both ends.

Regardless, how can you beat $19.95 for a year and I know that they are
advertising like crazy on the morning portion of Bloomberg TV!

I googled the name, and also googled the name of the product with the
word sucks to see what people who don't like the product say when a
friend was interested in the product a few weeks back. Sounds like
it's 2nd rate phone service and poor customer service, about what one
would expect at that price.

That's is what I remember from the list. Once it was in, a 'normal'
subscriber couldn't get it out, and they, MJ, had a subscriber installed,
and agreed to, OPEN Back Door to any computer it was installed on! We
have a lot of subs with these, and I mention it to them, but they don't seem
