IIRC to recover an an80i from no-man's-land - reboot and connect (telnet) within the first x seconds to ip 192.168.25.1. I think x is 10 or 20. Like run a ping in one window and have our telnet cmd ready in another. I think it starts responding to pings before its telnet server comes to life, so keep that in mind. [WISPA] Redline AN80i PMP firmware question
Hello, Was curious if anyone here uses Redline AN80i hardware, and if so, if you had upgraded to the new firmware version that came out late December. Specifically, I'm referring to version RL80PMPZ__1200_46.zip. We've been having several miscellaneous, bad firmware problems with a sector running v11.2x and plan on upgrading. Does anyone have any experience with this firmware version? Any idTable issues? DFS problems? Any and all input on the matter is appreciated. Thanks in advance. WISPA Wants You! Roughly $7-8k for basestation and $300 per SU if ordered by the pallet (72). If you have the budget go for the AN-100UX. It will give you much needed power and help you reach EIRP. This would also make it possible to use the SU-I's (indoor). -Eric [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Anyone have any idea on Redline's pricing for their AN-100U and SU-O 's? WISPA Wants You! I'm not sure on that. We've only ordered a few to test with and that was pre-certification. I'm sure the price has gone down since then. Re: [WISPA] Redline AN100 question?
You have to have to setup a TOD/SNTP time server it wont work with NTP and also setup a DHCP relay server and in the sector controller put the ip address of the TOD server and DHCP relay server, this is done in the sector controllers management page. On your DHCP relay machine don't forget to add the ip of the sector controller and option 4 for the time server. DHCP has to be coupled with a time of day server for the SU to receive DHCP, and hence, for the subscriber CPE to receive DHCP. Without the ToD server it won't work. Re: [WISPA] Redline indoor subscriber
From a purely technical perspective I am sure an argument could be made that an indoor device should be allowed to use higher power levels because it will not transmit unless under the control of an authorized base station. From a more practical perspective fears of possible cancer or other damage to human tissues, whether justified or not, are valid enough reason to avoid higher power levels in mobile devices. Re: [WISPA] Redline indoor subscriber
I am sure the Redline rep meant that they suck because the FCC has limited to 200mw of power. They are capable of 24dbm of power to drive their 8dbi antenna. One of the things I want to test is the difference in performance between the current FCC power limit and what it should be if the FCC treated it like the fixed station that we want it to be. I expect that with the right power the performance will be interesting. Then the only issue will be convincing the FCC to re- certify for indoor fixed deployment. At the end of the day, an indoor fixed unit installed by a professional could offer an operator decreased installation time and expense. Not the mention the obvious gain in avoid landlord access/ real estate agreement issues. I would think WISPA members would really want the FCC to understand that indoor != mobile. -Matt On Aug 1, 2008, at 5:43 PM, Travis Johnson wrote: The Redline rep at the meeting I attended yesterday said don't use the indoor models... they suck just for whatever that's worth... ;) Travis Microserv Eric Muehleisen wrote: Performance was poor in our testing. the SU-I has only 8dbi gain on it's directional antenna (back of unit). [WISPA] Redline Support is awesome!
When things work really good you want others to know about it- We found our self in need of a new software key last night during an link upgrade (the key we had on file was incorrect). To make matters worse the link was down because one end was upgraded and the other wasn't without this corrected key. Well you all should know that an email to redline support at 10pm last night was quickly answered AND they got us the correct key within an hour. How many of the vendors in this space are working support calls AND SOLVING problems at 10pm for us? Thanks Redline! Marty ___ Marty Dougherty CEO Roadstar Internet Inc. Re: [WISPA] redline
The maximum transmit power allowed on my units is 18dBm. The receive sensitivity all depends on what UBR your currently at. When I was aiming them I was able to achieve 54mb at -85 ish. This is with 1ft panels going about 1.5 miles. -Eric Travis Johnson wrote: Hi, Does anyone know off the top of their head the maximum power output of the Redline 5.4ghz product?
