StarOS. We do it at the APs currently, but may be switching to a PowerCode
BMU, since we are using that for billing.

Hey Jake,

If you want to give me a call, I will give you login to one of my
Mikrotik routers that has bandwidth queues in place. I can give you a
quickie on how it works.

I should say that we're using StarOS for this, because that's the platform
that we're using. That said, IMHO, when I used Mikrotik it was way easier
to do this with, and way better to look at on-screen.

Re: [WISPA] Bandwidth Management

2008-06-02 Thread Brad Belton
We had several Packeteer boxes years ago. Fantastic product and IMO (and
first hand testing at the time) was far and away the best bandwidth
management device available. I have no reason not to believe the Packeteer
is still the finest bandwidth management device available today.

We moved away from Packeteer to the MikroTik platform for a variety of
reasons. I do miss many of the Packeteer features, but in reality the
MikroTik does everything (and more) that we need for bandwidth management.

A MikroTik router is a fraction of the price and provides us a very powerful
CPE router that we put behind every data circuit we deploy. For the money
you just can't go wrong with MikroTik.

Best,

Brad
