[WiX-users] Patches are getting installed automatically on Microsoft Vista OS
Hi We have a technical isuue on Fix Pack 2.x installation. Scenario: 1. RTM + SP2 patch + FP 2.x patch Installed on windows vista using admin user 2. Create another user and add him to admin group. 3. Login with newly created user, SP2 installation runs automatically When we enable UAC on windows Vista, this doesn’t happen. But my Manager doesn’t want to enable UAC because of security issues on windows vista. Can you please help me to resolve this issue? i want to know, why patch installation is getting installed automatically? [WiX-users] Run a script in WIX based dialog
Hi All, Is there any way to run a script like VB in WIX based dialog? in one of the dialogs of my installer, i'm giving default directory like C:\Program Files\My Installer. At the same time I'm giving an option to browse the user desired location. If there is any other product which is already installed with my default directory, then i should not allow my installer to install in my default directory, I should ask to install in another directory. This is my requirement and i would do it if it is a MFC dialog, But the dialog is WIX based dialog. So i need a way to run my script in the wix based dialog. [WiX-users] Reboot issue
Hi, when i install my sample product, in the middle of the installation prompting system to restart. i found ForceReboot. Return value 4. and because of this another two actions like ExecuteAction. Return value 4. INSTALL. Return value 4.in the log file found failing to execute. can any one help me to block the restart. if i use the property REBOOT=ReallySuppress, my installation is hanging in the middle and suddenly progress dialog goes invisible and giving an error Error 1704. An installation for Sample Installer is currently suspended. You must undo the changes made by that installation to continue. Do you want to undo those changes? yes or no. if click any of the options it is giving fatal error. please help me to fix this issue. [WiX-users] Faulting application setup.exe
hi All, i've a sample installer which will be called by my setup.exe, while launching setup.exe after welcome dialog suddenly installation was failing, even logs doesn't giving any errors, so went to the event viewer and i found one error. the error is like this: Faulting application setup.exe, version 12.1.1.75, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x0001. can anybody help me in this issue? i don't have any clue why this issue is coming.
