[wsjt-devel] People are rude - sometimes uninformed
The other day, I was trying to work the Z81D on 20m FT8. After calling till I was blue in the face, he finally responded to me. I got his report, but I never heard from him again because a +14 signal from the East Coast started calling him on the DX stations frequency and on the DX stations time slot. He must have called for 10 minutes before his Watchdog Timer timed out. Then was back at it again. I was so mad, I just went back to SSB to cool off and had a couple of nice QSO's there. Later I saw this fellow join one of the FT8 groups and ask for instruction on how to operate FT8. Said he was a 30 year ham and just got into the digital world. The majority of responses were to RTFM, as expected. Whatever happened to STOP, LOOK and LISTEN before leaping into something new? BTW, I did log the contact just in case, since it was an ATNO for me on any band/mode. Maybe the DX did the same.
