Regards Sebastian Herbst Have you tried connecting from several client machines? Could you try to remove /var/lib/x2go/x2go_sessions (make a backup first) and the run sudo x2godbadmin --createdb? Does that fix your issue? If it does, I'd like to see that x2go_sessions file. Mike Thanks, but this didn't do it. However, I was able to solve the issue, as I finally had some more time to look into it. It will explain the problem here, for the unlikely case, somebody else runs into it: I had two entries in my /etc/hosts file that were named localhost, the usual 127.0.0.1 and an IP I added for testing some qemu stuff: 127.0.1.1. One part of the software expected a connection on 127.0.0.1 (hardcoded IP) whereas the other part tries to connect to localhost (by name), which was resolved as 127.0.1.1. Or maybe it was the other way round. Obviously this could not work and so it failed with this rather unhelpful error message.
