[Xastir] Xastir for OS X

2015-03-27 Thread Javier Henderson
Is there a current Xastir build for OS X?

I'm not sure if NH6Z's is up to date or not.

[Xastir] Xastir on OS X PPC Powerbook G4

2011-01-05 Thread T Wegner
First, a big thank you to anyone who may be reading this who has been
in any way involved in developing this program and more specifically
in helping me personally to get it installed.

I especially appreciate the helpful attitude and tone which is so many
times lacking on sites where new users seek help from established
experts.

Second,

For you Mac users out there, is there a way I can invoke the right-
click mouse function? In other programs I use either command click or
control click, and neither seems to be working in this case. As I am
using a powerbook, there is only the one button (below the trackpad).

Thanks

If you open Preferences under the X11 menu there is an option Emulate 3
Button Mouse. Make sure that is checked, then command click should be right
click.

[Xastir] Xastir 2.0.1, OS X 10.6.5 and Kenwood THD72A

2010-12-03 Thread Javier Henderson
I can't get this combo to work.

With the radio plugged via USB into the computer, after loading the device
drivers from http://silabs.com/, I can see output on ZTerm when packets are
heard.

The devices created are /dev/tty.SLAB_USBtoUART and /dev/cu.SLAB_USBtoUART

I added a serial KISS TNC using /dev/cu.SLAB_USBtoUART, I can start the
interface and status is UP, and I see Xastir sending data to the radio (at
least it's logged in the tnc.log file) but nothing is transmitted.

When packets are heard nothing is written to the log file, though the display
on the radio shows the message or position report, etc.

Not sure where to go from here. I never used a TNC with Xastir, just Internet
interfaces.

I decided to set it up and start using it, but noticed the compiler
didn't create the usual folders that you get from the building the
binary version. Where are all those folders so I can put my maps in
the correct place. Are they in a hidden folder? On my last OSX
native Xastir, they were all visible in the GUI file hierarchy.

I also noticed the Wiki has not been updated to this latest compiled
version of Xastir. It still points to Dana's site which has been
out of date for approx the last several years. Not sure how to
update the Wiki or who is hosting the compiled version of Xastir, I
misplaced the list posting.

If you're talking about the version that I compiled up a few months
ago, I placed everything that is in the share folder within the
application bundle. It'll be in /Applications/Xastir.app/Contents/
Resources/share/xastir. Ideally this stuff should all live in either
~/Library/Application Support/Xastir or /Library/Applicaiton Support/
Xastir but I haven't really put the time into hacking the code to make
this happen. There are a couple of ugly hacks in there already that
need to be cleaned up.

Are you starting Xastir remotely via SSH and forgetting to use -Y?
(Some people use -X I think?)

Firewall problems in the area of ports 6000-6063 on either machine?

This is on the same machine (no firewall) where Xastir is installed
so ssh isn't an issue. I made a script, but it is a simple call to /
usr/local/bin/xastir. It won't start from the script and I see that
error when running from a terminal with my normal account login.

I didn't run the bootstrap.sh script before the other steps. I just
