we currently have version 1.1.0 in our isengard repo.
if you want this to be add to the helix repo (for kodi ≥ 14) you need 
to bump the version to add least 1.2.0

preferred would be to use major bumps though (2.0.0).

the other addon is still being maintained, we've received a pull request 
for it last week.
i was about to pull it in when i received your pr.

please change both the addon name and to addon id to something unique.
when that is done, please submit a new pull request, don't follow up 
here to avaoid further confusion ;-)

Everything looks alright. I only came across this error in the log:
"ERROR: XFILE::CDirectory::GetDirectory - Error getting"
Reproducible by starting the skin, go to pictures and then back to home.
I've had this error in Nox too and in my case it was a list with a variable
as content with an empty value.

we currently have version 1.1.0 in our isengard repo.
if you want this to be add to the helix repo (for kodi ≥ 14) you 
need to bump the version to add least 1.2.0

preferred would be to use major bumps though (2.0.0).

i'm afraid we don't allow addons in our repo that require users to pay 
money to the addon dev
in order to unlock certain functionallity.

same applies to the forum thread of tv tunes, which violates multiple 
forum rules:
- 2.2.1 Do not try to sell services or hardware to individuals on our 
forums.
- 2.2.3 If you are the author of an original work relating to Kodi, you 
may include one (1) direct donation link in your forum post concerning 
this work. The link must be written with this exact wording: "Donations 
for this [addon/skin/guide/etc] gratefully accepted."

i would appreaciate if you could address those issues.

Hi Martijn,

Thanks for detailing your thoughts.  It's good to get a dialog on this, I
was really finding it hard to know what to do when I wasn't getting any
response to my questions.

So based on PSTV, are you OK if I split TvTunes into 2 parts, one part
staying in the official repo - the bit that plays all the different
themes/screensaver etc

Then have a second TvTunes (with a different name) that contains just the
"Theme Gatherer" part.  This would reside in my own repo, but would be
referenced (in a similar way to PSTV and the current TvTunes) from the
forum.

The TvTunes in the Official repo would work stand alone, and not reference
the "Theme Gatherer".  Would this be OK?

Let me put up front there is one HUGE difference between PSTV and TVTUNES.
Yours is in repo and the other isn't.
This is the same reasons pseudotv was never accepted because it's not clear
to us what the "sponsorship feature" does. Also asking money for gaining
access and calling it "sponsoring" is hypocritical and misleading.

i'm a bit confused here...
we already have a nhl-gamecenter addon by the same name and addon id in 
our repo.
i'm not sure what the difference is between the two, but i can't pull 
two addons with the same name / id.

Aha, I only checked the Helix branch to see if the add-on ID was already
in use.  I didn't think to check the pre-Helix branches!

My add-on is not the same as the one currently in the repo.  The
condensed history of the NHL add-ons is:

1) User Carb0 creates one.  He gets tired of maintaining it after a while.
2) Others pick up maintenance of it, while I opt to start fresh with mine.
3) The others submit the add-on that is currently in the repo.  I opt to
just let mine live on in my own repo.
4) The new hockey season starts, so I figure this is a good time to get
my add-on into the repo.  I remove "xbmc" from the add-on ID, but fail
to properly check if the ID is actually in use!

I'm not sure if the add-on in the repo is currently maintained.  I
believe it's not, but I'm not going to try to speak for the authors of it.

I'm guessing that my best course of action is to change the ID again to
something unique, then resubmit the request?  Would I do that in a new
e-mail, or a followup to this thread?

there's one thing i noticed in your code:

don't you want to use 'special://profile/addon_data/' there?
otherwise you'll always save your stuff to the master profile even if 
the user is logged in with a different profile.
