The patch works well for me too, thanks Theo!
Before pushing to master, I would like to hear from Sean.

[Xfce-bugs] [Bug 14026] Slow multiple files selection

2020-03-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14026

Fast forward 2020 I still can't reproduce:
Thunar from git master, using Compact view, in /usr/bin, selected first file,
press and hold shift and down. Thunar is using about 11% of CPU (4 cores here)
and it's slow even after selecting 500+ files. Am I missing something?

The launcher will surely receive this feature for 16.04, I have already pushed
the general feature that is necessary to achieve this to garcon.

Re-ordering the menu would affect all plugins (all plugins currently use the
same context menu) - plus this is a separate bugreport/feature request in my
opinion.

example of what is possible and what is intended to be possible

The panel has the fixed icon size property to set this value globally for the
entire panel, but a number of panel items have the ability to set a different
icon sizes for the item and it would be nice to be able to set this different
icon size to panel items that dont give you the option to set it - e.g. Whisker
Menu, Window Buttons, Show Desktop, Power Manager, Pulse Audio, Launcher

[Xfce-bugs] [Bug 11589] Easy access to change the file view and zoom level from the toolbar

2020-03-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11589

For some users "zoom", "refresh" and "view type" are important enough to have
them in the toolbar.
Other users may have other preferences .. I actually dont want to make such
tradeoffs.

Like Harald Judt, I use smaller thunar windows within a lower resolution .. so
I actually like the available space and would have trouble with a shorter path
in my toolbar :)

IMO if at all, adding additionall toolbar-icons should be optional and
configurable.

What is important and what not may differ from on user to another.

IMO the best solution would be to be able to reorder device and Places by drag
and drop. Like it is already possible for bookmarks.

The order should be kept in some xfconf setting.

Ok, I buy it :) ... but please move it as well above $HOME, so that the order
is consistant with the shortcut view.

I dont want to blindly follow other file-managers decisions. Why you think it
is redundant in the tree-view ? Because it is a direct child of $HOME ? That
argumentation as well would fit for the shortcut view, or ?

Best open a new bug for this feature and close this one, in order to stay
focused. You can reference the old bug there to explain your motivation.
