Is it possible to do on-card buffer copy?
hi, I want to copy an area of screen to another place, but it's too slow to copy it to main memory and copy back to the destination of graphic card. So I want to know if it is possible to do an on-card buffer copy without copying back to main memory? I study DGA for one day, and find it cann't do this work. Thank you. ps: I find it's possible with DirectX in windows. with regards, Daniel [EMAIL PROTECTED] or [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2005-10-15 ___ Devel mailing list Devel@XFree86.Org http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/devel

As a stopgap, I've already undone our agpgart.h's deletion. I agree it's best to use the system's copy (if available). I'll review this after I've fixed all the other build problems I have caused. Sun Creator and XRender
Hello, since the sunffb driver doesn't support the XRender extension but the graphics processor supports alpha blending and a few other nice tricks I've been poking around a bit to add this sort of functionality. The problem seems to be that sunffb doesn't use xaa or the standard framebuffer manager. so I couldn't get the included render code to work. So my questions are: - is there a text somewhere describing how to add xrender functionality to a driver without using fbPictureInit() ? - is there some more comprehensive ffb documentation available somewhere? I think I know how alpha blending and so on is supposed to work ( from reading the mesa driver source ) but there are still a few more questions. have fun Michael pgpG11CF8xp6j.pgp Description: PGP signature

[XFree86] X11 without WM - avoid scrolling to virtual screen
Hi, I have an X11 installation used for a kiosk system running just the X server without any window manager. My screen resolution is 1024x768. When I drag the mouse beyond the right or bottom end of the screen, it seems to switch to the next screen (virtual screen or whatever) -- my opened windows disappear and I only see the X server background. When dragging the mouse back left or up, my windows reappear. How can I avoid this behaviour? I don't want the user to be able to drag the mouse out of the main 1024x768 screen. I'd appreciate any help! Re: [XFree86] X11 without WM - avoid scrolling to virtual screen
X-Server virtual desktops pan with mouse movement. You seem to be describing a window manager virtual desktop switch. Also, you would not get an X-server virtual desktop with the XF86Config you showed unless your 1024x768 mode failed (would be mentioned in the /var/log/XFree86.0.log file). Mark.
