[xmail] how to set mail forwarding?
Hi, I need to set an alias so that [EMAIL PROTECTED] goes to an external address, say [EMAIL PROTECTED] If I put the following entry in aliases.tab, the xmail server doesn't seem to accept the mail and forward it: mydomain.combogus[EMAIL PROTECTED] Any suggestions? Thanks. [xmail] catch all mail box?
Hi, how can I turn off relaying in xmail? I've removed all entries from smtprelay.tab, but it seems like my server is still accepting relays. Thanks. - To unsubscribe from this list: send the line unsubscribe xmail in the body of a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] For general help: send the line help in the body of a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[xmail] how to turn off relay in xmail?
It seems like other people are using my xmail server for spam (I can see the error spam messages still coming through). Which config files should I be modifying to just turn the relay off? I've removed all entries from smtprelay.tab and restarted the server, but I can still see the spam error messages coming through. Thanks in advance. - Original Message - From: Davide Libenzi [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: XMail mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, March 07, 2003 3:46 PM Subject: [xmail] Re: catch all mail box? If you have POP3-before-SMTP enabled and you're doing the test from your box, that will succeed. try from one of the many online open relay testers. - Davide - To unsubscribe from this list: send the line unsubscribe xmail in the body of a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] For general help: send the line help in the body of a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] - To unsubscribe from this list: send the line unsubscribe xmail in the body of a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] For general help: send the line help in the body of a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[xmail] Re: how to turn off relay in xmail?
Thanks. I understand that relay is not spam. What I'm seeing are error messages that are generated because the recipient account is no longer active, etc. The spam messages are from an outside sender to someone not in my company. I don't mind allowing relay if I can stop the spammers from using my server to orignate their emails. - Original Message - From: Davide Libenzi [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: XMail mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, March 07, 2003 5:12 PM Subject: [xmail] Re: how to turn off relay in xmail? Relaying != Spam If you have the smtprelay.tab empty it's very hard someone can relay through your server. You cannot prevent spam messages going to your local accounts with smtprelay.tab though.
The only changes I've made to the server.tab file are to set the default domains, postmaster email, etc. I was wondering if I needed to change the DefaultSmtpPerms in server.tab, but I haven't changed it yet. - Original Message - From: Bill Healy [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, March 07, 2003 5:12 PM Subject: [xmail] Re: how to turn off relay in xmail? Have you made any changes to the server.tab file? If so what did you change/add? Have you made changes to any other files?
