Title:
Table column doesn't align with the operation in Horizon

Status in OpenStack Dashboard (Horizon):
  Expired
Status in OpenStack Compute (nova):
  Invalid

Bug description:
The column 'id' fro table 'instance_types' in database 'nova' is auto-
  increased.

  MariaDB [nova]> desc instance_types
  -> ;
  +--+--+--+-+-++
  | Field| Type | Null | Key | Default | Extra |
  +--+--+--+-+-++

  | id | int(11) | NO | PRI | NULL| auto_increment
  |

  +--+--+--+-+-++

While in the operation 'create flavor', the default value of 'id' is
'auto', which doesn't mean to be 'AUTO_INCREMENT', instead it generate
a GUID for it, like '0257d5be-821e-4cdd-ad2c-45139e067aad'.

So the database table design doesn't align with the operation in
Horizon. This should be fixed? Thanks.

[Yahoo-eng-team] [Bug 1592253] Re: Bug: migrate instance after delete flavor

2016-06-14 Thread Hyun Ha
Hi, Matt Riedemann
Thank you for comment.

I think this is not the same issue with bug 1570748.

In bug 1570748, only resize-revert bug is fixed and above issue is for nova
migrate.
(I reported bug 1570748 and I wrote that issue can be reproduced in nova resize
but actually that was nova migrate. So the people who tested that couldn't
reproduce the issue for "nova resize".)

When "nova resize" is requested there is no problem because there is flavor.
 : nova resize

But, when "nova migrate" is requested it can be error state because there is no
flavor.
 : nova migrate

So, please check again this. You can simply reproduce this with above steps.
Thank you.

When objects.Flavor.get_by_id method is called, error is occurred because the
default value of read_deleted is "no".
So, I think context.read_deleted attribute should be set to "yes" before
objects.Flavor.get_by_id method is called.

I've tested this using stable/kilo and I think liberty, mitaka has
  same problem.

  Thanks.

[Yahoo-eng-team] [Bug 1592627] [NEW] sriov bond don't support.

2016-06-14 Thread Yan Songming
Public bug reported:

Now sriov don't have the function of bond. In NFV, we need to add a bond
port using sriov. One option is to use two sriov port using as a bond
port. Another option is one port and add option of port create. Such as
"--bond" to add two vf in a port when we use "neutron port-create". I
prefer the second way, because it is easy to use.

[Yahoo-eng-team] [Bug 1592612] [NEW] TLS container could not be found

2016-06-14 Thread Jiahao liang
Public bug reported:

I went through https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Network/LBaaS/docs/how-
to-create-tls-loadbalancer with devstack. And all my branches were set
to stable/mitaka.

If I set my user and tenant as "admin admin", the workflow passed.
But it failed if I set the user and tenant to "admin demo" and rerun all the
steps.

Steps to reproduce:
1. source ~/devstack/openrc admin demo
2. barbican secret store --payload-content-type='text/plain'
--name='certificate' --payload="$(cat server.crt)"
3. barbican secret store --payload-content-type='text/plain'
--name='private_key' --payload="$(cat server.key)"
4 .barbican secret container create --name='tls_container' --type='certificate'
--secret="certificate=$(barbican secret list | awk '/ certificate / {print
$2}')" --secret="private_key=$(barbican secret list | awk '/ private_key /
{print $2}')"
5. neutron lbaas-loadbalancer-create $(neutron subnet-list | awk '/

[Yahoo-eng-team] [Bug 1592167] Re: Deleted keypair causes metadata failure

commit 4317166b72bb0aadd0321acdf9f2450c1a99d0a4
Author: Matt Riedemann
Date: Tue Jun 14 16:05:35 2016 -0400

Handle keypair not found from metadata server

With commit e83842b80b73c451f78a4bb9e7bd5dfcebdefcab we
attempt to load keypairs for an instance from instance_extra,
but if that hasn't been migrated yet we fall back to loading
the keypair from the database by name.

If the keypair was deleted, the instance object will just set
an empty KeyPairList for instance.keypairs and we'll get an
IndexError when using self.instance.keypairs[0] in
_metadata_as_json.

This adds a check that instance.keypairs actually has
something in it. If not, we log a message and don't return
any key values in the metadata dict - same as if instance.key_name
wasn't set to begin with.

Title:
  Deleted keypair causes metadata failure

Status in OpenStack Compute (nova):
  Fix Released
Status in OpenStack Compute (nova) mitaka series:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Description
  ===

If a user deletes a keypair that was used to create an instance, that
instance receives HTTP 400 errors when attempting to get metadata via
  http://169.254.169.254/openstack/latest/meta_data.json.

This causes problems in the instance when cloud-init fails to retrieve
  the OpenStack datasource.

  Steps to reproduce
  ==

  1. Create instance with SSH keypair defined.
  2. Delete SSH keypair
  3. Attempt 'curl http://169.254.169.254/openstack/latest/meta_data.json' from
the instance

  Expected result
  ===

  Instance receives metadata from
  http://169.254.169.254/openstack/latest/meta_data.json

  Actual result
  =

Instance receives HTTP 400 error. Additionally, Ubuntu Cloud Image
instances will fail back to the ec2 datasource and re-generate Host
  SSH keys.

Author: Gary Kotton
Date: Tue Jun 14 00:47:14 2016 -0700

DHCP: delete config option dnsmasq_dns_server

This field was marked as deprecated In commit
a269541c603f8923b35b7e722f1b8c0ebd42c95a. That was in Kilo
which has provided enough time for admins to addjust to this.

In addition to this the patch sets the default value as [].
If a value is not specified this is None and that should not be
the default list.

Title:
Ironic: Deleting while spawning can leave orphan ACTIVE nodes in
  Ironic

Status in Ironic:
  Confirmed
Status in OpenStack Compute (nova):
  Confirmed

Bug description:
The Ironic nova driver won't try to delete the instance in Ironic if
the node's provision state is DEPLOYING [1] , this is known to fail
with the current Ironic code because we just can't abort the
  installation at the DEPLOYING stage.

But the Ironic nova driver just keep going and tries to clean up the
deployment environment (without telling Ironic to unprovision the
instance) and it will fail as well. But the the code that cleans up
the instance will keep retrying [3] because there's a transition in
progress and it can't update the node. But when the node finishes the
deployment, if the retrying didn't timed out, the destroy() method
from the Nova driver will succeed cleaning deployment environment and
the Nova instance will be deleted but the Ironic node will continue to
marked as ACTIVE in Ironic and now orphan because there's no instance
in Nova associated with it [4]

The good news is that since nova clean up the network stuff the
  instance won't be accessible.

  WORKAROUND:

Unprovision the node using the Ironic API directly

  $ ironic node-set-provision-state  deleted

  PROPOSED FIX:

IMO the ironic nova driver should try to tell Ironic to delete the
instance even when the provision state of the node is DEPLOYING. If it
fails the nova delete command will fail saying it can not delete the
instance, which is fine until this gets resolved in Ironic (there's
work going on to be able to abort a deployment at any stage)

Title:
  Deleted keypair causes metadata failure

Status in OpenStack Compute (nova):
  In Progress
Status in OpenStack Compute (nova) mitaka series:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Description
  ===

If a user deletes a keypair that was used to create an instance, that
instance receives HTTP 400 errors when attempting to get metadata via
  http://169.254.169.254/openstack/latest/meta_data.json.

This causes problems in the instance when cloud-init fails to retrieve
  the OpenStack datasource.

  Steps to reproduce
  ==

  1. Create instance with SSH keypair defined.
  2. Delete SSH keypair
  3. Attempt 'curl http://169.254.169.254/openstack/latest/meta_data.json' from
the instance

  Expected result
  ===

  Instance receives metadata from
  http://169.254.169.254/openstack/latest/meta_data.json

  Actual result
  =

Instance receives HTTP 400 error. Additionally, Ubuntu Cloud Image
instances will fail back to the ec2 datasource and re-generate Host
  SSH keys.

  Environment
  ===

  Nova: 2015.1.4.2
  Hypervisor: Libvirt + KVM
  Storage:Ceph
  Network:Liberty Neutron ML2+OVS

[Yahoo-eng-team] [Bug 1592535] [NEW] wrong default value for $pybasedir

2016-06-14 Thread Thomas Goirand
Public bug reported:

In nova/conf/paths.py, I can read:

path_opts = [
cfg.StrOpt('pybasedir',
   default=os.path.abspath(os.path.join(os.path.dirname(__file__),
'../../')),
help='Directory where the nova python module is installed'),

This means that, wherever nova source code is installed to generate
nova.conf is going to be the default value for pybasedir. This has all
the chances in the world to be a wrong value. For example, if building
from /home/zigo/sources/mitaka/nova/nova, we end up with:

# Directory where the nova python module is installed (string value)
#pybasedir =
/home/zigo/sources/openstack/mitaka/nova/build-area/nova-13.0.0/debian/tmp/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages

instead of:
#pybasedir = /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages

Unfortunately, this ends up in the package.

I've tested this using stable/kilo and I think liberty, mitaka has
  same problem.

  Thanks.

[Yahoo-eng-team] [Bug 1582790] Re: Selecting first option in transfer table confuses styling

commit 180bcf23748d1f7661565c623c61773fb481e088
Author: Matt Borland
Date: Tue May 17 09:57:37 2016 -0600

Correcting detail-row logic to not disrupt styling

The detail-rows on source and flavor transfer tables get styling confused
when items are selected because their detail-row elements remain and thus
confuse the alternate styling. This patch fixes both of those tables
to exclude the detail-row when the primary row is also excluded.

Test this by (before the patch) selecting, say, the first option from the
available and see how the styling screws up on the remaining ones. Then
apply the patch and see how everything looks beautiful.

Selecting first option in transfer table confuses styling

Status in OpenStack Dashboard (Horizon):
  Fix Released

Bug description:
If you go to the Launch Instance wizard and select the first available
option, for example in Source, you'll see the table-striping styling
gets messed up (if you have the striping patch). This is because the
markup improperly lets the unshown details row be presented; this
needs to be restricted similarly to the primary row.

To test the problem, verify that the Source option stripes rows
properly when nothing is selected. Then select the first option. See
how the rows now are formatted similarly (not striped).

[Yahoo-eng-team] [Bug 1592463] [NEW] Avoid removing SegmentHostMapping in other host when update agent

2016-06-14 Thread Hong Hui Xiao
Public bug reported:

Found this when working on OVN, but it should also apply to topology
with l2 agent.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Have segment1 with physical network physical_net1
Have segment2 with physical network physical_net2

2) Have 2 agents(host1, host2), both configured with physical_net1. When
the agent created/updated in neutron, there will be a SegmentHostMapping
for segment1->host1, and a SegmentHostMapping for segment1->host2.

3) Update agent at host2 to only configure with physical_net2. There will be
only one SegmentHostMapping for host2, segment2->host2.
But the SegmentHostMapping for segment1->host1 will also be deleted. This is
not expected.

[Yahoo-eng-team] [Bug 1592396] [NEW] Specifying which floatingip to create should not be a restricted operation

2016-06-14 Thread David Juran
Public bug reported:

Hello

In my opinion, the --floating-ip-address option to "neutron floatingip-
create" should by default not be restricted to the admin user.

I notice that we now have the option, when creating a floating ip, to
specify which IP to create as opposed to only getting a (semi-)random IP
from the pool.

netron floatingip-create --floating-ip-address xx.xx.xx.xx external

Which is very nice. But I also noticed that this option, by default is limited
to an admin user. So why is this? If a user really want an IP which is free, he
can likely get it by creating and deleting addresses
until the one he wants comes up.

In my opinion, we should therefore relax the default policy, allowing
ordinary users to specify which floating IP to use.

Check for mysql SAVEPOINT error in retry decorator

Due to lost savepoints in mysql on deadlock errors, we can get
a non-existent savepoint error that is just masking a deadlock
error. This patch adjusts the retry decorator to check for these
savepoint errors as well. See the bug for more details about
the failure.

[Yahoo-eng-team] [Bug 1592349] [NEW] Page timeout in selenium integration tests is too small

2016-06-14 Thread Timur Sufiev
Public bug reported:

The default page timeout in selenium integration tests is set to 30
seconds, which is too small for a first couple of tests which are run
after Apache in devstack is restarted. It takes around 30 seconds to
just log in into Horizon, because a lot of data is fetched into the
memory of Apache workers during these first tests, hence they time out
and fail.

[Yahoo-eng-team] [Bug 1522677] Re: AZAwareWeightScheduler is not totally based on weight

2016-06-14 Thread OpenStack Infra
Reviewed: https://review.openstack.org/253330

https://git.openstack.org/cgit/openstack/neutron/commit/?id=5160d4e2ae285c62ab52c9dfc61121f8ca4ecd57
Submitter: Jenkins
Branch:master

commit 5160d4e2ae285c62ab52c9dfc61121f8ca4ecd57
Author: Hong Hui Xiao
Date: Fri Dec 4 00:19:00 2015 -0500

Make sure AZAwareWeightScheduler base on weight of agent

Problem details can be found in bug description. AZ here stands
available zone.

heapq.heapify() will sort tuple according to the first element. If
the first element is equal, then the second element is used. When
creating a new network, each AZ doesn't hold the network. So, the
AZ handling list is actually a name ordered list. As a consequence,
when creating a new network, a certain AZ will always be used,
for example, 'nova1' in ['nova1', 'nova2', 'nova3'].

This patch will sort the resource_hostable_agents firstly, so that
the AZ that holds dhcp-agent with least load comes first. Then use
min() to get the first AZ.

  Fix Released

Bug description:
The AZ(available zone) for network has been enable with the merging of
[1]. I try in local devstack with latest code.

  1) I deploy 3 dhcp-agent in 3 AZs (nova1, nova2, nova3).

  2) set the dhcp_agent_per_network=1, don't set
  default_availability_zones, and set network_scheduler_driver =
  neutron.scheduler.dhcp_agent_scheduler.AZAwareWeightScheduler

  3) create 10 networks without specifying the availability_zone_hints

10 networks all go to nova1. It is not a reasonable result.

I found out it gets too slow and hangs when I open the the instance's
console page with Google Chrome browser. I thought there might be some
network problem between my desktop and the Openstack servers but it was
not. If I open the console page with Firefox, it really works well
getting faster on the response.

[Yahoo-eng-team] [Bug 1592300] [NEW] Any message with more than one variable should use named interpolation instead of positional

2016-06-14 Thread zhang.xiuhua
Public bug reported:

Any message with more than one variable should use named interpolation
instead of positional, to allow translators to move the variables around
in the string to account for differences in grammar and writing
direction.

For example, do not do this:

# WRONG
raise ValueError(_('some message: v1=%s v2=%s') % (v1, v2))
Instead, use this style:

# RIGHT
raise ValueError(_('some message: v1=%(v1)s v2=%(v2)s') % {'v1': v1, 'v2': v2})

[Yahoo-eng-team] [Bug 1592294] [NEW] delete router interface failed because of vpnservice

2016-06-14 Thread wchunx416
Public bug reported:

I created a network and attached a subnet to it, then added this network
to two routers named router1 and router2, and I created a vpnservice
with router1 and the subnet. When I delete router interface of this
subnet from router2,neutron raises SubnetInUseByVPNService exception:
Subnet is used by VPNService.I have to delete the vpnservice with

Title:
  [OSSA-2016-009] ICMPv6 anti-spoofing rules are too permissive
  (CVE-2015-8914)

Status in neutron:
  Fix Committed
Status in OpenStack Security Advisory:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
ICMPv6 default firewall rules are too permissive on the hypervisors
leaving VMs able to do ICMPv6 source address spoofing.

  Pre-condition:

  - having a provider-network providing IPv6 connectivity to the VMs
  - in my case the controllers are providing statefull DHCPv6 and my physical
router provides the default gateway using Router Advertisements.

  How to reproduce:

  - spin a VM and attach to it an IPv6 enabled network
  - obtain an IPv6 address using #dhclient -6
  - try to ping6 an IPv6 enabled host
  - remove your IPv6 address from the interface: #sudo ip addr del
2001:0DB8::100/32 dev eth0
  - add a forged IPv6 address to your interface, into the same subnet of the
original IPv6 address: #sudo ip addr add 2001:0DB8::200/32 dev eth0
  - try to ping6 the previous IPv6 enabled host, it will still work
  - try to assign another IPv6 address to your NIC, completely outside your
IPv6 assignment: sudo ip addr add 2001:dead:beef::1/64 dev eth0
  - try to ping6 the previous IPv6 enabled host -> the destination will still
receive your echo requests with your forget address but you won't receive
answers, they won't be router back to you.

  Expected behavior:

  - VMs should not be able to spoof their IPv6 address and issue forged
ICMPv6 packets. The firewall rules on the hypervisor should restrict
ICMPv6 egress to the VMs link-local and global-unicast addresses.

  Affected versions:

  - I saw the issue into OpenStack Juno, under Ubuntu 14.04. But
according to the upstream code, the issue is still present into the
  master branch, into; neutron/agent/linux/iptables_firewall.py, into
  line 385:

  ipv6_rules += [comment_rule('-p icmpv6 -j RETURN',
  comment=ic.IPV6_ICMP_ALLOW)]

[OSSA-2016-009] Security Groups do not prevent MAC and/or IPv4

Status in neutron:

Status in neutron kilo series:

Status in OpenStack Security Advisory:

Bug description:
The IptablesFirewallDriver does not prevent spoofing other instances
or a routers MAC and/or IP addresses. The rule to permit DHCP
  discovery and request messages:

  ipv4_rules += [comment_rule('-p udp -m udp --sport 68 --dport 67 '
  '-j RETURN', comment=ic.DHCP_CLIENT)]

is too permissive, it does not enforce the source MAC or IP address.
This is the IPv4 case of public bug
  https://bugs.launchpad.net/neutron/+bug/1502933, and a solution was
previously mentioned in June 2013 in
  https://bugs.launchpad.net/neutron/+bug/1427054.

If L2population is not used, an instance can spoof the Neutron
router's MAC address and cause the switches to learn a MAC move,
allowing the instance to intercept other instances traffic potentially
belonging to other tenants if this is shared network.

The solution for this is to permit this DHCP traffic only from the
instance's IP address and the unspecified IPv4 address 0.0.0.0/32
rather than from an IPv4 source, additionally the source MAC address
should be restricted to MAC addresses assigned to the instance's
  Neutron port.
