You may have better luck requesting features on the discussion list
for the Firefox extension - http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/

This has the subject line from my message in it, but you're addressing
AFAICT and I've no idea who that is.

If me, then I hate to say it, but no. These features I'm requesting
are not available or do not work with other extensions. I use Firefox
and because I'm using a Delicious Firefox extension that Delicious has
made themselves, I'm requesting features for this extension. It is
fluid and not unreasonable in the least. Why use more extensions to
get features for the original extension?

I agree Delicious needs to do what it does best, but it needs to be
more user friendly and take into account why users use various browsers.

[ydn-delicious] Bookmarklet inspiration

2006-12-18 Thread onepauls
My department at work just started using BlueDot (www.bluedot.us) for
bookmark sharing. Although I hate to use a service other than
del.icio.us and their main service doesn't compete, I did find their
bookmarklet incredibly impressive.

>From what I can tell, it creates an iframe inside the current page and
uses that. Of course this all fails if you have javascript disabled,
but its way faster than the existing del.icio.us add bookmarklet.
Something to take a look at.

Then again, if I determine it's possible, I'll probably try to create
this one myself. :) Cheers.

That's extremely odd- I am looking at the site in IE and see no
issues. I'll forward your email to the team and see if we can find a
reason for this. Have you tried clearing your browser cache? WE
didn't do anything that affects the hosting of css files, etc, but
that sounds like the most likely cause for your issue.

2006-12-18 Thread Dan Geiser
Hello, All,
After today's scheduled outage when I go to view any portion of the
del.icio.us web site it looks like crap. Specifically the site now
looks I'm reading it in a text only browser like Lynx. I am using
Internet Explorer 7 and everything was fine up until this outage
occured.

Here's an example of what the front page looks like to me starting in
the upper left hand corner...

del.icio.us
your favorites | your network | subscriptions | links for you (8) | post

   your favorites del.icio.us the web

logged in as LazloHollyfeld | settings | logout | help

hotlist ¨Cwhat's hot right now on del.icio.us
HOT NOW

see also: popular | recent

 CNET Japan Blog - ½u½¡Ì«ÀÉ / Kenn's Clairvoyance£º¥°©`¥°¥ë¤¬Ÿo"³¤Ç¤Ï¤Ê¤¤
¤³¤È¤Ï¥¨¥ó¥¸¥Ë¥¢¤À¤±¤¬Öª¤Ã¤Æ¤¤¤ë save this
people 101
first posted by extreme.wave"

etc.

I'm not seeing any issues in Firefox or Opera.

Also, in the lower left hand corner of IE7 it now says "Done, but with
errors on the page" and when I click on that error and then click show
details it display the details of 3 different error messages (where
before this afternoon there were none)...

"Line: 2
Char: 1
Error: Syntax error
Code: 0
URL: http://del.icio.us/

Line: 415
Char: 54
Error: Object doesn't support this property or method
Code: 0
URL: http://del.icio.us/

Line: 419
Char: 1
Error: 'Mp3' is undefined
Code: 0
URL: http://del.icio.us/";

Any ideas?

So you think.

Have you done formal research on this? I've been doing it (ctrl- or
shift- or cmd-clicking links) for years and it doesn't bother me at all.
Plenty of people I know have been doing likewise. None of us find it to
be a huge annoyance.

It may be popular, but I can virtually guarantee that there are vastly
more FF installations that do NOT have TMP than those that do. Is that
by choice, or by ignorance? Who knows...but it is very ill-advised to
go changing default browser behaviors for zillions of others just
because you happen to like it. I tend to believe that if this method of
browsing was, in fact, so preferable, that browser developers would have
made this the default behavior some time ago!

It's very fortunate that TMP cannot control del.icio.us.

AFAICT, these are all implemented browser-side. If you want these
things, use a browser that does them. I am perfectly happy using del
with Firefox, Opera, and Camino and the features they provide. We don't
need del to try to reimplement browser-side features with "clever
tricks" for users that don't have them; del needs to focus on what it
does best.
