If you recall, I was driving my old VW bus at the time and we drove together from Manhattan to Wichita. At the end of the Wazoo show, Zappa was to ride with us but things got mixed up at the end and he ended up with someone else's ride. He was standing at the door to get in with us but. We caught up with him later. What a night to remember. I think either Earl (Dumler) or Roger (Lewis) rode with us. Opening band was Steely DanWalter Becker / Donald Fagan I remember Frank making a comment to the audience...many of you are asking for old songs...this is a new band and we're going to play new songs ,so shut up and listen. It was cool! The band was like an orchestra...with lighted music stands and Zappa in the corner directingsmoking cigarette on the end of his guitar. Weird stuff, but very musical! There was a strange odor in the air and I probably inhaled too much of it. Am I at the right concert Dawayne? - - - - - - - For further Z-related fun, please visit http://www.thebignote.com or http://www.killuglyradio.com , thank you.

Bart (PL) Pete Restall (UK) as far as i know this should be like: **That's correct Bart. And, when you actually mail it on to Pete, you make another response to this with your name taken off... We'll all get the hang of this I'm sure. Regards, SOFA For further Z-related fun, please visit http://www.thebignote.com or http://www.killuglyradio.com , thank you. Yahoo! Ahem, some horn tootin': http://www.killuglyradio.com/features/gigs/ index.php?type=perYeargigDate=72order=#28 Not much info but hey, it's there... :-) YM That's great - thanks for the heads up - but it also doesn't say confirmed - I have confirmed it so now you can add that to the site. I appreciate the heads up to your site, though - great job! Thanks! :-) I've updated the listing. One thing still missing though is a playlist... any way you could provide a playlist for the venue? Much enjoyed reading your account of the event at TBN btw! YM Yahoo! Groups Sponsor ~-- Has someone you know been affected by illness or disease? YM Hi there - I don't have a playlist as I didn't write it down that night. Much of the show content was very similar to the next night when they played Cowtown Ballroom in Kansas City. One thing I noticed on your site where it states that Zappa played both Lawrence, KS and Kansas City on the same day - Saturday Dec 2, 1972 - that's highly unlikely but it must be true. It just surprises me that they would play 2 seperate cities on the same day. Especially knowing Lawrence is only a half hour away from KC. Weird. Yahoo!
