Re: [Zappa-List] 1970-11-14? early and late LIST
On dividing it onto two vines - I don't mind but I don't see the problem with doing a ping pong thing. But another but: if Chris has already sent it to me then I'll pass it to my Brit friends omitting US, then Chris or Jim is supposed to send the new set to Mr.Skull as a US starter. If Chris has not sent it yet to me, he can send it to his US friends, but then will Jim or Chris sent another set to me? In case if Euroland is going to wait till US will be all done first, what if the list grows with more US wanters? It all depends if Jim or Chris are going to clone another euro-vine. Or there's not a topic and let's do it as it sits. Cheers Bart Użytkownik abxer3p [EMAIL PROTECTED] napisał: This list from the 23rd is a little longer. Re: [Zappa-List] 1970-11-14? early and late LIST
Well... I'm not one to complicate things and, tho I can see some of the efficiencies mentioned in this thread regarding vines crossing the pond, I think having two branches for every vine will end up complicating the system. My opinion is that a single vine is easier to track, and easier to search. I guess I'd rather see single vines where an occasional shuffling of names occurs (with the agreement of the participants, of course). As this vine is already enroute to Europe, it does make a bit of sense to have it make the rounds a bit there. I've just checked a number (well three) FZ gig lists and they all suggest these discs come from 13/11/70. Although they also confirm that two shows were also performed on 14/11/70 but with no info available. Well worth getting though as sound is very good. Re: [Zappa-List] Vine Efficiency (WAS 1970-11-14 early and late LIST)
It should even itself out, A vine that starts in the US would spend a bit of time Ping Ponging* across the States before heading out to the rest of the world.Like wise one starting over this side would Pong Ping* around Europe before heading Stateside.Cris* These are technical terms I learnt back in 1976... but I could be wrong. :-/On 29 Jun 2005, at 6:48 pm, Scott Burnett wrote:Sounds good to me, case by case and what makes sense. I know it's slower for those farther down the list, but I agree with Richard. It hasn't been more than 2-3 bucks for me to mail overseas, and it's kind of fun to see something from Poland, Croatia, Sao Paolo, or the isles arrive. Plus it sort of puts a virtual wallacross the world, it's friendlier when you don't know where you are sending next..And its only a few dollars more after all! Or are we only in it for themoney? Re: [Zappa-List] Mental CT Hygiene Delemma
Well, the obvious has been done - correct track separation. Now I have to find a City of Tiny Lights with a similar sound and solo (shouldn't be too tough; FZ played that "Aint Necessarily So" solo several times). Once that track is repaired, I'll be looking to do the same with "Illinois Enema Bandit" - tho a comparable solo there will not be as easy to hunt down. Correct those two tracks and I should be able to do something about the upper and lower level 'munge' that's blocking out some good middle range stuff. At least, I think I can... SOFA SOFA I am currently in use ofSoundforge 7 but am but a baby withthis and wouldnt like to offer anything out until both technical proficient and musically heartfelt at the results it just wouldn't be right! keep it in house for the time being.
