With it taking nearly 2 weeks to cross the pond, hoppinating these

[Zappa-List] RE: Thing Fish - The Real Tapes and the Pre-release

2006-07-11 Thread Les Watts

A long long time
ago.Well OK - earlier this year, I had my name down on this chain which kind
of went the way that a few eratic vines seem to do and ended up ... well I don't
know where but however...

Thanks to Tom and
his excellent Instant Bootleg Collections (Vols 3 4 actually), I now have
a copy of "The Real Tapes" so can officially remove myself from the chain that
kind of looked like:

Pastor Del - USA David G - USA
Joseph - USA Richard Moore - UK ChrisF - USA Matt -
USA Nick - UK Arto - FIN r2daft2 - UK
restallp - UK

..and if it
were to continue (which I half kind of guess it won't) .should therefore now
look like:

Pastor Del - USA David G - USA
Joseph - USA Richard Moore - UK ChrisF - USA Matt -
USA Nick - UK Arto - FINrestallp - UK

Anyway, whilst on
the subject:

There is of
course another related vine out there (well there was), which is
obviouslystill of interest to me (and presumably others
too)...This being the "Thing-Fish Pre-release".

The quick guide
to the difference is that "Real Tapes" has 11 tracks (well 12 actually) and is
38+ mins long, whilst the "Pre-release" has 22 tracks lasting about 97mins (this
would appear to include most, but not all, of the tracks on the "Real Tapes"
boot).

If there's
someone out there hanging on to the "Pre-release" vine (it doesn't seem to have
made its way to the orphanage), then can I ask for the vine to be kick-started
back into action.

The last chain I
can find for the "Pre-release" was dated Feb'06 and looked like
this:

JohnK-USA
Neil (UK)NICK (UK) [EMAIL PROTECTED] Richard
Moore uk JohnK - USA restallp

I'll
optimistically include myself on the end:

JohnK-USA Neil
(UK)NICK (UK) [EMAIL PROTECTED] Richard Moore uk
JohnK - USA restallp r2daft2 (UK)
???

Thanks in
anticipation,
Les.

  HiGroup,

Received this disc from Bart today (Thanks once again, Bart, for reviving
this one!) I'm ready to send it on down the list. Here's the order
  as it stands:

Pastor Del - USA David G - USA Joseph - USA
Richard Moore - UK ChrisF - USA Matt - USA Nick -
UK Arto - FIN r2daft2 - UK restallp - UK

I'd like to try this in the order above, so Pastor Del, please send me
  your address.

Everyone bear in mind that some of this vine order is from half a year
ago and things change, so there may be no response to some of these
  requests.

We'll give it a go, anyway.

  Cheers!

  Hi Folks,
as I said before, the re-done disc in audio format (that's the way I have it
from the lost vine) with Thing Fisgh Real tapes on it (TT: 40 min, and muddy
sound quality) has been sent out to NoKeating in USA yesterday. When he gets it,
he'll re-arrange the vine someway.
Hope this will restart the vine movement.
