Re: [zeromq-dev] Donations?
Yes, something many FLOSS project do is go through SPI to handle the financial side of things for them: https://www.spi-inc.org/projects/ But the domain name renewal sounds like a great option for occasional stuff. mpg does that work for you? Re: [zeromq-dev] Donations?
One way to donate is to extend the domains period: https://shop.gandi.net/en/domain/renew/b28a1fb5-6e8a-46a2-8459-277b5a7b5ffa?search=zeromq.org Regarding the sponsor button, I'm not sure where we would deposit the funds. We would probably need some kind of an organization behind it. Re: [zeromq-dev] Donations?
Hi, The FOSDEM one is a good idea, although next year won't happen again due to COVID, unfortunately. Doron manages the websites and domains - Doron, maybe we could setup the "sponsor" button on Github and use anything that comes in to help pay those expenses? Re: [zeromq-dev] Donations?
Hi mpg, I can't comment on the hosting and other infra related costs. Perhaps Luca or Doron can comment on that. The best way to contribute to the zeromq community is to use the projects and hire developers to work on any issues and/or improvements. We also really appreciate yearly meetups/hackathon with beers and food at FOSDEM so attending those could also be a suggestion? We’ve been using ZeroMQ for a year now and we’re very happy with it. We’d like to make a small donation to help continue the work.
