Re: [Zim-wiki] Zim history usage
Quoting Jaap Karssenberg : Hi all, Hereby another request for comments about zim usage. Does anyone here use the history in zim as strict sequence? What I mean is this: for example, if you navigate from page "A" to page "B" then again to page "A" and again to "B" (without using the 'back' button), your history will look like "A -> B -> A -> B" and clicking 'back' repeatedly will switch back and forth between these pages. In comparison, the "recent pages" view in the pathbar would only show "B, A" and forget about the redundant occurrences of both pages in the sequence. Now if as a user you just want to find back pages you recently accessed the later is enough. But if you need a strict sequence that you can play back, the first is what you need. So my question is: can we remove the strict history and only support "recent page" - or is there a good use case that uses the history as a sequence? What do you use the history for ? (As you may have guessed, just supporting the "recent pages" without the strict sequence allows me to remove some code and additional accounting) Regards, Jaap Hi Jaap, +1 for recent pages only. -- Patrick Van der Veken KUDOS BVBA - UNIX/Oracle/Web Consultancy http://www.kudos.be - http://www.baanboard.com E-mail: i...@kudos.be - Tel: +32.477.63.52.55 bin_S7OemEh76.bin Description: PGP Public Key ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~zim-wiki Post to : zim-wiki@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~zim-wiki More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
Re: [Zim-wiki] Size restrictions?
Quoting John Geoffrey : Hey, could it be that the size of a notebook affects the performance of the program? I have had some dreadful performance problems with zim for the last few months, but it got better for a moment when I deleted the index files from the folder earlier. Then it got worse again when I updated the index and it created a new one. How big can/should a notebook be? Hi John, My notebook has 2000+ pages in 300 different folders and is size about 100MB in size (incl. attachments). I use Zim v0.62 on Windows 7 & Linux Mint and I have no notable performance issues. Re: [Zim-wiki] Zim 0.62 Windows Not Starting
Quoting Chris Giacofei : I have just tried to install zim 0.62 on a machine running Windows Vista and I having trouble loading zim. The zim logo comes up for a few seconds then disappears but zim never completely loads. I have found since trying to run 0.62 I am having the same problem with 0.61 which I had previously been using without issue. Any help getting zim working again would be appreciated. Thanks Chris Chris, I had similar problems on Windows 7 for a while. Until I started using the standalone version of Zim via: "C:\Program Files\Zim Desktop Wiki\zim.exe" --standalone This avoids the launch of the build-in server for Zim which was causing problems in my case. [Zim-wiki] Sourceview plugin (gtksourceview) on Windows
Hi all, I am trying to get the Source view plugin to work but Zim v0.62 is unable to find the required gtksourceview2 libraries. I have installed the entire PyGTK bundle, tried to setup the actual libraries (incl. libxml2) somewhere in the PATH but to no avail. Does anybody have the plugin working on Windows (7) machine? I would love to hear the set up details of such working configuration. On Linux it works fine of course :-) -- Patrick Van der Veken KUDOS BVBA - UNIX/Oracle/Web Consultancy http://www.kudos.be - http://www.baanboard.com E-mail: i...@kudos.be - Tel: +32.477.63.52.55 binnmfBaRj9iZ.bin Description: PGP Public Key ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~zim-wiki Post to : zim-wiki@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~zim-wiki More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
