I've been using a product called RMLPageTemplate: -

http://www.zope.org/Members/mkerrin/RMLPageTemplate

...which gives you a ZPT-ish way of generating PDFs. It was fiddly to
set up first time around, but worth the effort. I'm using it on Zope
versions from 2.7x to 2.9x.

I use it extensively for reports on RDBMS data and printing certificates
and insurance policies.

I can't think of anything that would do this for you: transforming 
HTML to PDF doesn't usually work very well. Reportlab is fairly easy 
to use and extremely fast. 


Except that it's apparently not thread-safe and should therefore be 
handled with care.


A BFL has always solved any paranoid fears I've had in this area ;-)
