hello,
This is my second transmat question in just as many days.
Stephen brown's ep #2 on transmat has a great oration on it, this guy
shouting I AM..SOMEBODY! Was his lifted from another record or a
speech from somewhere?
shame on me for not knowing sorry. but thanks in advance if u can
I have a record with the same speech - the speech is laid over the top of a
re-edit of 'play it loud' by larry heard. i think it's on mystic bill 'the
mystic files' (trax). it's a great bit of oratory when laid over' play it
loud'.
where it comes from originally, i don't know.

Anyone heard his batch of 5 mixes that was released late last year?
Thoughts?
The Sonar mix is my fave but they're all of a high standard IMO. Lots of
older Detroit and chicago tracks (circa late 80's to early 90's).
cheers

There's also a mix he did with Llorca on Pulsation.com - if anyone has a
tracklisting for that I'd be happy to hear from them!

just a quick short respons cause i'm in a hurry:
not all 80s rehash is formulaic, (a very little) part of it can also be

the current obsession with all things frivilous .. agree with you, but man
look at the 70s disco
Well, www.allmusic.com has some good information, especially some of the artist
biogs - which are often very well written, but their discographies are often
far from complete. Unsurprising perhaps since they do seem to actually try to
live up to their title by covering all music.
My favourite
please don't spend £60 on that, it's a £20 - £25 piece at worst (prob less in
the states)!

Haven't heard any of them except the Omar S 002 and I think it's great! I
made a discovery the other night by pure accident. The vocal cut, B-side

Yeh, Omar S 002 is wonderful, but I personally like 003 even more. It's
incredible. Hard to categorize this music, sorta basic channel meets deep
moody house. If you see 003 I would not pass it up. I picked it up last week
and have been listening to it daily ever since. 003 is also cool because
