i can strongly recommend the new jackmate album prodigal son. the
track prodigal son itself is a mighty acid house rocker. it was
released earlier this month on the german label resopal-schallware. the
other tracks range between minimal techno and tech-house. pretty good
stuff.

stable and simply made for playing tracks digitally. especially the
track database is a very good helper.

i discovered ableton live a few days ago and have started to chop my
vinyls into handy loops. it's really sick work but on the other hand i
can't wait to add this to my vinyl/fs set.
as far as i got it, most of you use ableton to play entire tracks with
it? uhm, i can't open any mp3's here, you
we're talking about maybe 1-2% per mp3 stream. that is not the argument.
besides, my notebook hd is already the max. size limit.
on the other hand it's simply impossible to play with mp3 loops because
mp3 isn't gapless (adds a few ms silence before and after the data
area). i would just like to
one of these minimal days here...

I recently started using Ableton Live next to Traktor (FS), Vinyls and
Buzztracker. The freedom that comes along with this setup is pretty
genius. The only thing i miss right now are some Kaosspads II and
another set of arms/hands :)
The big thumb down of this setup:
It needs too much tablespace
Too bad the quality offered by Apple is still way below enjoyable or
even playable :( Until the point they start selling music encoded with
reasonable codecs in a file format that can be used by any application i
can only say:
IT SUCKS.
Even if the entire 313 music history would be available
I'm trying to offer the best spread between size and quality on my
netlabels (www.rohformat.de, www.primative.net/schleudertrauma/
shameless self promotion - GOTCHA! ;). That's actually vbr mp3's
compressed with lame 3.90.3 codec using the --alt-preset standard
setting. Right now i'm almost alone
uhm. if this isn't wicked... seems like i've got to get there somehow.

Didn't really keep track of the discussion due to quite abnormal issue

I think the list isn't setup correctly. The autoresponder is the author
of a mail by default, it should be the lists adress. So in order to
reply to the list i've got to use the reply to all button which
automatically sends the mail to the list, the writer and everybody who

motorfaders are so-so but i.e. the knobs have got pushbutton
functionality, are configurable 4x via groups, it's easy to setup the
controller to send
It supports 14bit midi, so ~1 steps. The faders are quite okay, tho
i bet the motors may be the first thing to die one day.

That is due to the lame IRDA connector which spreads noise into a
soundcard input you can't switch off using Dell's drivers. There's a
generic AC97 driver which works fine and let's you turn off all the crap
you don't want. Or if you're adressing the groundnoise issue due to the
powersupply,
A friend of mine (Ronald van Aggelen [EMAIL PROTECTED]) has got
the i510 and uses it for Ableton Live. He seems quite amazed and happy
with it. If you have any further questions don't hesitate to contact
