You could take a look at Google Material Design icons - seems like a pretty
large collection in 5 styles:
https://material.io/resources/icons/

I'm sure there are some other collections like this but can't recall from
memory - I will post if I can track them down.

I was wondering if there is any ‘button collection’ one can use (with
3D Button).

I am not an artist and that part of UI development is not my forte.

I sometimes use Unicode characters with regular buttons, but it would
be better to use 3D buttons.

Otherwise, what do you use to make yours?

RE: 3D Button collection? (Or manufacturing)

2019-11-08 Thread Stephen J. Orth via 4D_Tech
Chris,

We utilize PNG files for all our buttons. I've been very happy with a suite of
images from a company in Germany:

 https://www.iconexperience.com/

Very reasonable cost for such will done icons. We have been using them for
years and they continually update and evolve the images based upon changing OS.

Best,

Steve

Status of a bug report

2019-11-08 Thread Jeremy Roussak via 4D_Tech
The last time I submitted a bug report (a while ago), it was through
bugs.4d.fr, and I was able to track the progress of the response. Now (as I’m
not a partner) I have to do it through the forum. There doesn’t seem to be a
way to see how it’s getting on, though.

I’ve had an acknowledgment: it’s been given the reference ACI0100153. Can it be
tracked?

Jeremy

Re: 4D Lists Disappearing - Cause Unknown - v17.2

2019-11-08 Thread Alan Tilson via 4D_Tech
4D suggested that I repair the structure file so I did that after verifying
it where the log file showed a huge list of Lists that were there but were
not referenced by the list manager. The repair went very quickly and now
the structure file is "valid". There were over 300 Lists that were
recovered which I deleted since the actual lists were also there.
Hopefully, this is resolved. Should have thought of a repair myself!

Re: 4D Web Application and SAML or OpenID Connect

Hi

Thanks for all the responses.   As always, there is more than one way to do it.

Looks like OpenID Connect may be simpler.  We've already got some OAuth code in
use for external application interfaces.

Re: v15 how do I feed a SQL query result to a listbox?

Hi Chip,
I'd add 2 things…
1/ the INTO LISTBOX target variable must not be a local one
2/ after the SQL populates the listbox, resulting headers/columns names are
"automatic" and uneasy to predict; I also remember in previous 4d versions they
could use existing names in the form without throwing an error; anyway I prefer
to rename them after the query:

 //LB_renameCH (LBname_t)
 //rename columns + headers of a listbox using listbox name
C_TEXT($1)
$LBname_t:=$1
$nbCol_l:= LISTBOX Get number of columns(*;$LBname_t)
ARRAY TEXT($obj_at;0)
LISTBOX GET OBJECTS(*;$LBname_t;$obj_at)
For ($i_l;1;$nbCol_l)
$arr_p:=OBJET Get pointer(Object named;$obj_at{$i_l*3-2})
$head_p:= OBJET Get pointer(Object named;$obj_at{$i_l*3-1})
$title_t:=OBJET Get title(*;$obj_at{$i_l*3-1})
$Cname_t:=$LBname_t+"_C"+String($i_l)
$Hname_t:=$LBname_t+"_H"+ String($i_l)
LISTBOX INSERT
COLUMN(*;$LBname_t;$nbCol_l+$i_l;$Cname_t;$arr_p->;$Hname_t;$head_p->)
OBJET SET TITLE(*;$Hname_t;$title_t)
LISTBOX DELETE COLUMN(*;$LBname_t;1)
End for

Hi Chuck,
both Luc and Dani are right, I'd add it depends on what your csv is made for:
- to be opened in a spreadsheet, insert a single quote (or use some "0"
format once opened in spreadsheet)
- to transfer data to another system, nothing to change
As Dani, I avoid the use spreadsheet to control a csv, the "automatic cell type
recognition" (text, num, bool…) will often "disguise" the truth.
