I uninstalled the IDT high definition audio codek, and now my computer
only uses my speakers to output audio. This confirms that my hardware
is fully functional.
However, now my playback device has become Speakers instead of
Speakers/HP, after the uninstallation of IDT.
I require the IDT high
I was facing the same issue with my HP- Dv6 3017 tu laptop.
Uninstalling the HP's sound and using the default Audio drivers
installed by windows resolved my issue. I guess there is some issue
with HP's audio driver.
