I think I have not made my suggestion in a clear way. I did not mean that
NGOs take over responsibility of managing customer service of these
products. What I mean is that Product manufacturers may sign-up to use Help
desk as a platform so that beneficiaries will have a single phone

money. NGO in our sector are already overburdened with the work. Some of

Since efforts are being made by organizations like Saksham, AICB etc., how
about integrating customer support with National Eyeway Help Desk? In fact,
this could become platform for all assistive technology vendors.

I think/thought the same, however the fact that the development team were
willing to take my feedback under consideration and work on it is a good
sign in their favor.
Besides the orbit reader the AICB? (really bad with remembering these
letters) is selling essencially wont have any
The bigest problem is with regard to after sale service. these
manufacturers and dealers especially Indian ones have a very poor
record on this count. They'll call you hundred times till they sell
the product but when the sale is done, they are very indifferent in
answering your quaries.
