Re: [AI] Regarding my petition about making Zomato accessible with screen readers with talkback
Whether an app is accessible or not should be evaluated on the basis of accessibility guidelines. And one needs to look at the needs of all disabilities and abilities. Hardly any app is claiming accessibility certification, till that time if at all they are accessible by accident and not by design. -Original Message- From: AccessIndia On Behalf Of Sanchit Katiyar Sent: Saturday, February 22, 2020 12:42 PM To: AccessIndia: a list for discussing accessibility and issues concerning the disabled. Subject: Re: [AI] Regarding my petition about making Zomato accessible with screen readers with talkback Hi, With due respect to your efforts of asking/pushing Zomato to make their app more accessible with screen readers, I would like to state that I find the Android app of Zomato highly accessible on most of the counts excluding the option of rating the food and delivery boy. I am curious to know the specific issues that you are facing while using the app because there might be some issue with your system software. I am using Nokia 7.2 with Android 9.0. I am just curious to know the issues (because I am perfectly able to use the app) that is why I am replying. Please do not take it otherwise. I commend your efforts to make things more accessible and easy-to-use. [AI] Opening a password protected MS word file
Dear friends, I created a MS word file in office 2007 and protected it with a password. Now I forgot the password. Is there a way to either recover the password or open the file? I tried on Google but found programmes which are either paid ones or completely inaccessible. Would be happy if someone can help me in this regard. -- G. Re: [AI] A silly query regarding Gmail sign in
Hi Shadab, Here what I would personally recommend you would be to use a different browser and save your password and don't log out from the email once you have done that simply close the browser. Or you can simply use an email client like Thunderbird so that you don't have to login to your account again and again. Hope this helps! [AI] Suggestions needed on OCR apps for Android
Hi listers, I would like to get your suggestions on an OCR app for Android. As many of you may have noticed, the KNFB Reader, the much hyped Android OCR app for print disabled, has ended up being a complete disaster, particularly on Android 10. The app had issues on my Nokia 6.1 for some time, and once I got the latest Android OS update to Android 10, the app doesn't even launch. I understand many users across Android OS versions and devices are struggling with it. As such, I would like to shift to something that works. I have heard about Envision AI. Can some share their feedback on the functionality and performance of the app? Opting for a lifetime subscription is worth it? Are there any good free image to text apps available for Android that works well with Google TalkBack? Looking forward, Regards, -- Dr. Mahesh S.
