[AI] Account opening in hdfc bank

Can i get someone's mobile number who has opened bank account in hdfc bank.
I have recently opened my salary account in hdfc but still the ekyc is
pending as the bank people are totally unaware of the process.
I want to know how other VI people have got their ekyc done.

[AI] condemn largescale arrest of disabled people in Tamilnadu

The National Platform for the Rights of the Disabled (NPRD) strongly
condemns the arbitrary detention of hundreds of disabled persons while they
were proceeding to Chennai from different parts of Tamilnadu to participate
in a demonstration before the state secretariat demanding an enhancement in
the amount of disability “pension” at the call of the NPRD affiliate, the
Tamilnadu Association for the Rights of all types of Differently Abled &
Caregivers (TARATDAC).



Reports of police forcibly de-boarding disabled passengers holding valid
tickets from trains have come in from more than 30 places including
Virudhunagar,
Tirupur, Erode, Salem, Thanjavur, Mannaarkudi etc. Many protesters who had
arrived this morning by trains at Egmore and Chennai Central stations were
also taken into custody and prevented from getting out of the railway
stations.



Nearly 1200 people arrested from Chennai Central have been taken to nearby
marriage halls. Around 2000 people arriving by bus at the Koyambedu central
bus stand have also been arrested and prevented from going out. More than
four thousand people have been detained throughout the state till 9.00 a.m
today. The DMK government seems rattled by the mobilisation of disabled
people and is making all efforts to suppress the movement.



Despite various representations, the DMK government sworn in last year, has
been obdurate and unwilling to engage high ranking officials to initiate
talks with the agitating disabled persons, who are aggrieved that no such
announcement has been in the budget proposals. It has failed to even
honour  the commitment made in its election manifesto of increasing the
pension to Rs. 1500/-



The TARATDAC has been demanding that the amount of pension given to
disabled persons in the state be raised to at least Rs. 3000/-  so that it
is on par with that being given in neighbouring Telangana and Andhra
Pradesh. It has also been demanding a revamp of the design of the scheme to
include more disabled persons under its ambit.



The NPRD stands in solidarity and support with the struggling disabled
persons of Tamilnadu who are demanding their right to a dignified life. It
calls upon the Government of Tamilnadu to see reason and initiate immediate
talks with the TARATDAC and accede their demands instead of taking recourse
to a confrontationist path. It demands the immediate release of all those
who have been detained in various parts of the state immediately.

I find remembering so many keystrokes very difficult. I did one thing when 
I started using computer and you can do it, too.

When you are using an application, press the key combination insert+h for 
jaws commands useful for that application.

For windows keystrokes for the same application, use insert+w.

If you want to check for jaws command at any time, press insert+spacebar, 
followed by j. It will bring up the jaws command search window. Simply type in 
the query and you may find what you want.

Axis can be the most governmental of all private banks in the country.
Had the struggle of my life to get them to issue the Flipkart Axis
card. Thankfully, the guy who eventually helped my with my ICICI
issue, had changed jobs, and was working with Axis. Axis had done a
physical KYC for me. And originally, they had refused to issue the
card on thumb impression, had to escalate the issue all the way to get
it fixed.
Hang in their, keep fighting, they'll eventually come around.

 Wow, I am seriously impressed. Every 2 days I receive a call asking me
 why did I not complete my KYC? As soon as I tell them of my blindness.
 They tell me they would check & get back. & of course, they never get

Thank you vry much for continued intervention on this issue.
I logged into the site. Seems they have at the very least, started to
have a stab at trying to fix the massive problems. But unfortunate, it
still is a half-baked job. I was able to access the AIS from services
once. But not working a second time. Many other tabs are also not
functional yet. So perhaps one can say 5 percent of issues are fixed,
95 percent of issues unfortunately, are still remaining.

books library, NIVH Dehradun. If you are a member of that library, you can 
request them and they will provide you with the CD of your required books. You 
have to tell them your library membership number, your required book name and

you, and I wonder if there is a possibility of adding more?

guys aware of any copies I can obtain, either in ebook form, or audio?
 Wouldn't  mind paying for them, either.

Hi all,
I have been running for almost five years now.  I began my running
journey by holding on to elbow.  I was extreamely overweight 108kg and
now I am 83kg.  When I used to walk I would always hear people
practicing for marathon and that excited me.  I initially used to hold
elebow but one of my close friend taught me to run by myself and jusst
rely on voice guidance.  I run along with fellow runner who is running
with me at the same speed and tells me right, slight left or right,
bad patch of road, speed bump.  I am happy to let you all know that
last Sunday I had  completed half  marathon (21kM) only on voice
guidance.  I am also applying to limca books of record as I know this
may be the first of it's kind to run as blind only on voice guidance.

Proud to let you know that today I completed half marathon (21km)
13.05 miles in 3hr12min as part of first official marathon organized
by Ageas Federal insurance. It was difficult, challenging and last 2km
(1.24miles) I wanted to abort my mission but grateful to Daybed Mondal
and Prakash Singh sir who issued verbal instructions.  For many of
you, it may not be a big deal but for me running as blind person
without holding elbow and running just on voice guidance indeed is an
achievement for me.  I am also applying for Limca books of records for
being the first blind runner to run half marathon on voice guidance
and zero touch.  My sincere thanks to family, Amit Ghosh, our gym
trainer and jBro from NAV sports for facilitating my personal
achievement.

Children’s magazine ‘Thumbi’ brings out braille stories for
visually-impaired readers in Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka

Can visually-impaired children experience the vibrant world of picture
books? Nearly ten years ago, when he was yet to start Thumbi, a bilingual,
monthly children’s magazine, Sivaraj dwelled on this thought during a
conversation with children’s author, the late Vaandu Mama.

“He told me that many children today fail to realise how fortunate they
are. They have everything. Parents, an education. Eyes to feast on the
world; ears to listen to a birdcall. What about those who are unable to do
so?” Vaandu Mama, says Sivaraj, told him that he wished to write something
for such special children.

Now, five years after the launch of Thumbi, and 58 issues later, the
magazine’s editor Sivaraj, has brought out its first braille compilation of
children’s stories.

Published recently, the collection, named after the magazine, includes
three stories. It will be distributed at 60 schools for visually-impaired
children in Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka, starting this week.

This includes Poonamalle Blind School in Chennai, St Joseph’s School for
the Blind in Madurai, Dharisanam School for the Visually Handicapped in
Batticaloa, and Vaazhvaham Home for Visually Handicapped in Chunnakam,
Jaffna.

In Sri Lanka, the anthology is being distributed by Canada-based Suba
Balasubramaniam through “Let Us Help Now Foundation”, a non-profit that
works with the elderly and children in special needs homes in Sri Lanka.

The plan is to bring out a braille compilation with three stories every
month,” says Sivaraj, speaking over phone from Tiruvannamalai. “Each of
these stories will be rooted in different landscapes, such as mountains,
forests, and the sea,” he says, adding, “We have picked stories that have
already appeared in Thumbi and have converted them to braille with the help
of the National Institute for the Visually Handicapped, Poonamallee.“

The series was launched by artist and writer Manohar Devadoss on March 4.
Eighty-five-year-old Devadoss, who was awarded the Padma Shri last year for
his work, gradually lost his sight over the course of his life; he now
lives in Chennai. “He was an inspiration for this venture,” says Sivaraj.
“He gave us an understanding of his world; which is both magnificent and
fascinating.”

Since most of Thumbi’s stories are picture-heavy, Sivaraj says they plan to
expand upon the text to make the braille version more appealing for
readers. A four-member team from the magazine, comprising Shilpa Krishnan,
Suyambu Selvi, Maasilan Meenakshi Sundaram and Palaniappan Ramanathan, have
taken up this task. “Henceforth, all our issues will have a braille version
as well,” says Sivaraj, adding that this will run parallel to their monthly
braille compilation.

Audio book versions of their issues are in the pipeline too. Sivaraj says
that they plan to document stories special children share as an anthology
in the future. He asks, “What kind of stories does a visually-impaired boy
narrate to his friend? How does he describe his world? We want to note down
every word.”

Hi,
In I phone, in the voice over on tab, in audio settings, there is a button 
which says like this—“auto select speaker in call- ON/ OFF”. When it is turned 
on the speaker mode will turn on as you take your phone away from your ear and 
vice versa. This setting will not have any effect when voice over is turned off 
as then, by default this setting is also turned off. You can also manually turn 
it off while using voice over.

Think they authenticate your ID, PAN and Aadhar, and match it with the
person. You have to show them the documents in a way wherein they can
click a photograph of the document. They would also need to click you.
This is what I was told by both Standard Chartered and American
Express. So its not really about the signature, as the application is
anyways taken online. So, ICICI shouldn't create much fuss really. You
should surely not let it go, fight it out, they do have processes to
get cards issued to blind person, just that most people dealing with
it aren't aware of the same.
