I used narrator since it was introduced in windows 2000. later with
windows xp and 7. Still it is not my choice as a primary screen reader.
The main disadvantage of this inbuilt screen reader is, it don't support
non-microsoft products and also old versions of microsoft products.

2023-10-17 Thread Amar Jain
Hi Nidhi,Off late Narrator has significantly improved. But the general stand of the MS was always that they intend narrator to work not as the primary screen reader but as something which works well in conjunction with third party screen reader. With your email below, is there a change in leadership or that’s an individual contribution you want to make by gathering user inputs? If it is the former, that would be quite a welcome change! In any case, I fall amongst the users in the second category and would be happy to contribute to make narrator more viable option.Feel free to reach out to me on +91-9892622230 / amarj...@amarjain.comThanks,Amar JainSent from my iPhoneOn Oct 17, 2023, at 23:01, Nidhi Jain wrote:

[AI] A law for mandating audio described movies on Ott platforms

2023-10-17 Thread Saurav Hegde
Hello to the Access India group,
Recently the movie OMG 2 was released on Netflix and I wanted to watch it.
To my disappointment, the movie didn't have audio description.
Many such movies and web series are still inaccessible.
I wanted to ask, mainly the lawyers on this group that is there a way to
make audio description compulsory in India while releasing a movie on any
platform.
This will facilitate us not to be at mercy of western platforms or movie
producers.

Warm regards,
Saurav Hegde

Hi friends,
I’m hearing a lot on this group about UDID card, but I am still not sure what
are the practical benefits of having one in one’s day-to-day life: with banks,
hospitals, Government facilities, transport advantages Etc.
Can someone please enlighten me? Thank you guys.

I have already downloaded the digital certificate. But I could not find any
link to download the soft copy of the udid card. The page that comes after
tracking udid status displays this message:
Note : As per RPWD Act, 2016, UDID card can be issued by home district hospital
as well as the hospital where the PWD is taking medical treatment.

It is confusing. I shall try to visit the hospital again. Do hospitals issue
udid cards in other states?

Hello,

I found this message while tracking my UDID status:
Your application current status: Disability Certificate prepared and UDID
Generated (1917023091096779)

I got my digital disability certificate last month. When may I expect my udid
card or what else I have to do next?

With best regards,
Amiyo Biswas
