[AI] Book Announcement: The Three Fat Men by Yury Olesha

2023-11-16 Thread NAB Delhi Helpline
The digital library, National Association for the blind Delhi supported by
Spirotech, is delighted to announce the availability of the book: The Three
Fat Men, By Yury Olesha.

Doctor Gaspar Arney.

What a clever man is he!

He can trap the sliest fox,

He can crack the hardest rocks,

He can fly from here to Mars,

He can reach the farthest stars! This jolly song takes us in to the world
of make-believe created by Yuri Olesha. The scene is set in a fantastic
land ruled by three greedy fat men who are engrossed in eating and making
merry in their palace. Meanwhile, curious things are happening outside the
high palace walls.

The recording of this book has been specially made for our visually
impaired friends in an audio accessible format. To access the book, kindly
register on the NAB Digital Library.

[AI] Fwd: [Special] [nvda] Announcement Only: Accessibility Issues with the Outlook for Windows Preview (will replace Mail, People, & Calendar apps in January 2024)

Subject: [Special] [nvda] Announcement Only: Accessibility Issues with the
Outlook for Windows Preview (will replace Mail, People, & Calendar apps in
January 2024)
To:

I'm granting myself an exception to the NVDA-only rule simply because so
many among our membership do use the Windows 10/11 Mail App, and the
transition to Outlook for Windows in January will hit each and every one of
them.

Outlook for Windows is not, repeat, not, strictly inaccessible, but the way
in which things are accessed does not follow the paradigm that Microsoft
has used for accessing the ribbons for as long as the ribbon interface has
existed. You can change the simplified ribbons (default) back to the
classic ribbons, but neither is accessed in the way all of us here are
accustomed to.

I have put the following feedback in to Microsoft via the feedback
hub: *Outlook
for Windows Preview - Main Menus (Home, View, Help) are inaccessible for
screen reader users via keyboard*

I strongly suggest that anyone who is currently using the Windows Mail App
take a look at that feedback, upvote it at the very least, and preferably
upvote and add your own comments. This is how attention gets drawn to
fixes that need to be made, and these need to be made quickly or else all
hell will break loose (and justifiably so) when who knows how many Windows
Mail app users wake up one January morning to Outlook for Windows that's
not accessible using the same techniques all Microsoft programs have been
using literally for decades now.

[AI] NVDA not announcing page numbers in word file

2023-11-16 Thread Saurav Hegde
Hello to all,
I had asked this query earlier but reposting because of no response.
I have noticed that NVDA is not announcing when going from one page to
the next page.
Even at the end of a document it is announcing "page one, section 1".
I am using Word 21 and the latest NVDA.
Please someone help in resolving this issue.

Awating a reply.
Regards,
